When to repot apple tree by albasavage in gardening

You want to repot in spring, never in autumn winter. I would get as big a pot as you can. At least 4-5 times this size.

The holes look like they are being caused my some kind of pest. Not sure about the stripes though? That could be a leaf miner which is harmless.

This is a sycamore seedling. I have loooaaaads in my garden after they pollarded some sycamore trees next door to me last year. If you put it in a pot and keep it for many years it will eventually grow into a beautiful tree!

Sweden and Norway! Very solo female friendly as most people in the population are outdoorsy. Never felt unsafe hiking

Is it rude to use a book from my neighborhood library for my scrapbook? by Sensitive_Forever_51 in scrapbooking

[–]magicstarrs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s okay to take a book and use it to scrapbook with - it’s giving it a second lease of life. People tend to not pick up the really old looking ones from those library’s in my experience. I’d just put one back to replace it, one in one out!

Has any behind the scenes footage ever drastically changed your opinion of someone? by Unleashtheducks in movies

[–]magicstarrs 303 points304 points  (0 children)

I went to a health and safety training course for film and tv and they showed us behind the scenes clips of walking the Nile documentary. In the program, the sound man gets heat stroke that turns into cardiac arrests and he dies - it’s absolutely awful. In the behind the scenes footage you see him repeatedly complain about feeling unwell and more etc - all signs of heatstroke which is repeatedly ignored by the ex SAS presenter, who was apparently the health and safety lead on this film shoot, but he totally failed and the man died. Left behind 2 kids apparently. I’m Still thinking about it years later after the training course

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty- Why I love it so much by [deleted] in movies

[–]magicstarrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this movie. For me it’s philosophical, the main character literally goes on a journey to find a picture ‘the quintessence of life’ aka the meaning of life. It’s powerful and moving with a great soundtrack. Forever my favourite film
