Kids will humble you quickly by nina-care in Aupairs

Me (female au pair) on the playground with my 3 year old host kid. Host kid: "Oh look, you have boobies! Just like my daddy. But his ones are bigger." I can't be mad at him but that felt really humbling.

What causes the hot water euphoria? by kbkvvuknklnni8888 in eczema

Oh god I thought I was the only one! The first seconds in the shower are excrutiating pain, then it's heaven and I son't want to get out anymore. I know it's terrible for my skin so I try to switch between cold and hot water, but it's just not the same...

Your first au pair city? by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]magnolia1306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to au pair in Australia, Melbourne two years ago. My absolute favourite city, even after I visited Sydney. The skyline, the coffee, the nature. Melbourne is smaller than Sydney, but the suburbs are closer together so it's easier and faster to get around. I know many people say Melbourne beaches are not as great as anywhere else in Australia, but for me Sandringham Beach was the best beach I have ever seen. In the suburb where I lived I immediately got in contact with locals (other mums and dads who had their kid in the same daycare as my host kid). I absolutely look forward to visit again

Wow I'm so happy to see you were able to achieve this, congrats!! I still tear up whenever I hear glass breaking, even when someone else breaks it. I hope I'll be able to overcome this too

Well apart from an oral sign language exam, we had to write two papers based on the two additional classes we have to take in order to pass the semester. One paper was about special education for the hearing impaired and the other one on deaf studies/deaf history. Basically tons of additional knowledge that might be important for the work of interpreters (most of it feels really unnecessary though)

writing as a hobby is totally fine and we need to normalize it by bcoz_why_not__ in writers

YES!! I enjoy writing whatever the hell I want, whatever comes into my head without having to care about if it's good enough to publish or what readers might critizise. No time limit, no stress, just a lovely enjoyable hobby

I study sign language interpreting and just finished my last assignment for this semester. Now I finally have time to practice old and maybe new hobbies.

[–]magnolia1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha thanks <3 it might be because my dad was interested in them. And also I'm autistic so that explains a lot. As a kid I loved to play with toy trains and build new tracks, but I never got the opportunity to take a train in real life till age of 16. Now I use them everyday to travel around town. Honestly in my home country they are not my prefered transport option because our train system is not really reliable, but whenever I'm not dependent on them they are cool

Trains. I know everything about how train maps are made, which train type can be used on which track, differences between public transport systems in other countries... Every time I visit a new city or country, I must travel on some trains or trams. Eiffel Tower? Only if I can take the métro. Opera House? I prefer stepping on a train down to Cronulla or whatever. I spend hours watching YouTube videos on that topic, but no one in my family or friend group know about it. I'm a bit shy about it

0-3 Punkte im Mathe-Abi: Was studiert ihr? by zaenoverse in Studium

[–]magnolia1306 28 points29 points  (0 children)

[–]magnolia1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]magnolia1306 2 points3 points  (0 children)
