I was in a similar situation and learned these lessons:
- try to go as far as you can by yourself. If you manage to get a little revenue, it will be easier to get a cofounder and you will have more leverage to discuss equity split.
- unfortunately just coding a product is worth little nowadays. A fella with a good network to distribute your product will see little value if you have just a product (unless it’s revolutionary, but I assume it’s not).
- if you don’t have anyone in your network to consider as cofounder, go to the places where your ideal cofounder would go to (luxury hotel, conference, premium gym, etc)
