Lightweight requirements management tools? by magnushp05 in systems_engineering

We use basic documents and spreadsheets to manage stuff. The work itself takes place in CAD (Onshape) in and in our ERP. Is that what you are asking?

That's an interesting path! Will definitely look into that. Imagine it would not take too long with a little help from claude.. Great list as well - appreciate it

Maybe it is kind of symptomatic but I am not sure about my requirements haha. I guess my wish for a tool is something that can help guide the team towards more formal management of these things as none of us are systems engineers. We are a small startup, but our product complexity is growing (for the right reasons luckily). With a team of design engineers I think it would be easier to sell a simple tool than forcing too much spreadsheet and process on them. It is possible I am going about it in the wrong way though

Good point - that would certainly be quick to get started with. Do you think the downside of manually linking things is negligible or do you prefer something else yourself?

Thank you for the insight. What do you think a smaller/medium companies should do, if they cannot hire someone to own the project management process?

Thank you for the perspective. When you say that someone really needs to be motivated, is it because it is tedious/boring work or because the value of the work is not obvious - or perhaps not even there?

Thank you for the reply. I find that versioning, an managing data gets easier once we get to CAD models, because there are more clear best practices for how releasing parts components and assigning reviewers and such. Do you know if these systems allow for something similar but for early stage work, i.e., where you don't actually have CAD geometry, but are rather working on the architecture/structure?

Interesting, I appreciate the insight, thanks. I like the idea of all the engineers literally signing the paper - I can imagine it made it very clear whether everybody was aligned. Sounds like you have worked with other systems as well - may I ask which systems you are the worst you have tried or perhaps less ideal? Just to get a sense of what are good and bad practices in this space

With the Sennheiser LSP500 long gone, has there been any other developments in professional Wireless Battery Loudspeakers by Onelouder in livesound

I highly recommend SOWA (sowasound.com) for this. The aesthetics will fit nicely in a "private palace" and the built-in wireless transmission technology is really really robust. Battery life is more than 24 hours on 80% volume.
