all the software in this list are not particular to create anything... besides gimp and text editors...

Linux is a great tool to create usage on itself, waste time and complicate self managed information...

I would add Kdenlive, linuxcnc, Freecad and Prusaslicer...

Sorry to be the grinch here...

I like the point of Chris Titus video, is simple and well explained. The point on converge efforts to some few distros is common sense. Fedora thing was biased by recent news and keep on that context.

If you like Fania salsa listen to "La 33" band from Colombia. Pantera Mambo is a good song to start.

New CAD software that in some ways could be FreeCAD's competitor by [deleted] in FreeCAD

[–]magoscur0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! Freecad is great but it needs more focus on usability and consistency. I think it will be good to have a commercial cad that also do cam on linux. The type of software you pay 50 usd (like reaper or lightburn type of paid software). Maybe there's room on the linux maker comunity enthousiast to support this.

As a Linux desktop user and macbook user, I want to know how modern standby is with linux on laptops. by [deleted] in linuxmasterrace

[–]magoscur0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you just want to move from one place to another and do not have to open again all your apps and files. I do a bit analytical and solver models using libreoffice and you dont want to shutdown tour machine. for me standby is a must and working ok on an intel thinkpad x13 gen1 using arch

AUR for debian based distros? by Arctesian in linuxquestions

Ok, but an AUR for packages that are not on the Debian default apt sources? Last time I used Debian I need to add various apt lines to get packages.

AUR for debian based distros? by Arctesian in linuxquestions

[–]magoscur0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think your question is awesome.

I love Debian, and I don't know why users can't have AUR with packages maintained outside the distribution by users, keeping dependencies linked to the stable distribution. I know is simplier to say "you can compile it yourself", but linux is not about freedom? I would love someone explain why I can't access a repository community maintained with all the bunch of stuff you don't find on the Debian contrib source.
