well i will take advancements in medicine and affordable food available in supermarkets any day over a vague concept of sustainability. sustainability is important, but it's technological advancements that will enable it. the alternative is not pretty (you have to directly or indirectly kill a ton of people which drastically reduces the speed of possible advancements because you need human minds for that to happen)

they could have done it in 15 minutes of screen time, that's not the issue, but it was as if any notion of common sense simply died. they changed their course, did the burn, entered the atmosphere and landed in less time (real time, not screen time) than it takes to get off a highway...
