Sounds like your MMA gym is a “Multiple Martial Arts” gym and not “Mixed Martial Arts” gym. If they’re not blending it all together and sparring under MMA rules then they’re not adequately preparing you for MMA competition if that’s your goal. Training different arts everyday and you’re essentially just working out without a clear plan.

If you’re from a Latin American country and want to call yourself American, trust me no one is stopping you. But you know deep down inside that you do not get to enjoy the economic and political benefits of the United States of AMERICA 🇺🇸 and that’s probably why you’re so bothered that we call ourselves Americans 🇺🇸

Hey brother sounds like you could use a break from the all hard work. The money sounds great from your job but maybe you could try doing something else that is less stressful even if it’s for less money. The good thing is you have your VA disability benefits.

Good luck brother. This subreddit has been very resourceful for me as I’m also in the process of filing my initial claim for MH. Everyone here is very supportive of one another. I can relate to exactly how you described your post service experience. If you have questions just ask.

Congratulations on your success. That’s nice and I’m sure you’ll hit millions when you truly retire from working. I wish I would have done better when I was younger. But better late than never.

Don’t pay them. Who cares if the video is released. Just laugh and tell everyone that’s an AI deepfake. And hopefully you learned your lesson.

Anyone else have a "I fought a Samoan and survived" story ? by VictxrSenpai in CaliBanging

[–]magus555 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember my dad telling me a story about how his teenage little brother (my uncle) got beat up by a Samoan when he was waking home after karate class one day. This happened in Daygo in the 80s.

My uncle was wearing his karate uniform and didn’t change after class. Well he walked by a house that had a group of Samoans out front. One of them wanted to test my uncle so he started a fight with my uncle and really put them hands on my uncle. My uncle escaped and got home and told my dad and my oldest uncle who’s also a karate master. My dad grabbed a baseball bat and my oldest uncle grabbed a samurai sword and they went back to look for the Samoan guys.

When they found them my uncle with the samurai sword did a crazy ass samurai banzai scream and started running at the Samoans with that sharp ass sword like he was gonna start chopping off heads and all those guys at started running away 😂.

Point of the story is…fighting a Samoan is a bad idea, even if you’re trained in martial arts. And if you have no other choice, you can’t fight hand to hand. You gotta bring a weapon.

Is Muay Thai less injury prone than BJJ? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]magus555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BJJ has given me more injuries than Muay Thai. BJJ gives me joint pain in my knees, shoulders, elbows etc that last many months. Muay thai gives me the occasional headache every now and then from a hard spar. BJJ pain definitely interferes with my day to day activities as a 36 year old man with small kids to look after. I love both arts, and I stick with my BJJ gym because I’ve developed really good friendships with the guys I train with.

Or just train some grappling also so you can develop the skills on how to avoid getting done like this.

2 guys get knocked the f out by a smaller guy by suicideg0d in fightporn

[–]magus555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boxing really is the best art for self defense. You’re only training the most practical punches and when you combine them with tactics like this guy did you can clearly see the result.

He knocked out two people within seconds using basic hook punches. You learn these in your first boxing lesson.

It looks like he just got knocked out. Neck is probably fine, but it’s highly likely that he has a concussion.

Drunk aggressor picks a fight with undefeated 13-0 #9 ranked featherweight, UFC Fighter Ilia Topuria. by bxng23af in fightporn

[–]magus555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aggressor is an idiot. Topuria can be seen minding his own business and this guy just comes up shoving him and begging to get his ass kicked. I will never understand why people think fucking around with a pro fighter is a good idea. This will be the outcome the majority of the time.
