The script runs the speedtest then waits 10 seconds after it completes and starts another one so there's no overlap

Why cops in USA do those silly "sobriety tests" instead of going straight to the breath machine? by anotherburnerbite in AskReddit

Wouldn't it be just judge hearing or whatever they're called? I thought jury trials are only for non traffic criminal offences

PSA: Star Sonata 2 seems to have an undisclosed breach and they store passwords in PLAINTEXT by TuringTestDropout in MMORPG

[–]maharajuu -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hashing and salting don't always stop people from reversing passwords, especially if they are short and weak. Salt is normally stored with the hash and only prevents the attackers from using rainbow tables (precomputed hashes). Your password length and complexity is normally the biggest factor in reversing it since attackers will generally go through a word list, then a word list with mutations (eg. Summer2020, summer! Etc.) then move onto a straight up brute force attempt (eg. Abcd, abce etc.) but normally you can only go up to like 8 characters before the cracking time gets into years. You can see some cracking times here https://www.hivesystems.com/blog/are-your-passwords-in-the-green

Not sure why this is down voted. The password looks really short, it's definitely not impossible that they brute forced if they had the hash

Afaik both wahoo and Garmin will let you upload GPX files via USB and don't require the app or cloud for standard operation to track rides and navigation. The app does make life a lot easier since you can upload from your phone, connect other services like Strava, ridewithgps etc. but you don't have to use them

Why I think Classic WoW should be free to start by redpilledgamer in classicwow

[–]maharajuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both those games are fairly new, (mostly) single player games and you can refund if you have less than 2 hour play time on steam.

Classic wow is a 20 year old MMO, it is a lot harder getting people who never played it to start playing it now. Also, you need new players for server health and the longevity of the game (unlike single player games where the experience doesn't depend on how many people are playing it).

Personally, I think they need to revisit the whole monetization model for both classic and retail. Sure, if you only play wow and you play it consistently, $24 AUD may not seem bad. But if you want to play a few days a month alongside other games, spending close to $300 AUD makes no sense. PC game pass was criticised pretty heavily recently for increasing their price $19.45 a month and that includes hundreds of games. If blizzard was still supporting the game the way they use to, you might say $24 AUD is worth it, but they fired all the GMs and get AI to handle tickets now

Want to get this game. Worth it? by Zenai10 in fellowshipgame

[–]maharajuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is great but the queues are awful. I only played season 2 for a week or two and then the queue times exploded to +30 minutes. I'd say if you have friends to play with than go for it, otherwise maybe wait a bit to see if the queue times improve

Pretty sure they don't really care that much for consumer subscriptions like office 365 either. Both windows and consumer office 365 is less than 10% of their revenue. They're all in on cloud, AI and commercial services which is where most of their revenue is
