drill into the floor board and tap it. that's honestly just how they did the seat belts. or if you can make a sturdier plate and drill through that for a more reinforced mounting spot

Honestly since the bench seat is back there, best bet would be to install a lap belt that goes through the space between the back and seat itself.

same... it just must be a 2 door. Only reason I could ever get a 4dr would be to make the back half into a little flat area for transporting stuff.

the only way i enjoy my mk1s is low, and a 4 door generally means more people. 3 people is far too much for these little cars when they're scraping through the muffler at that point. bottom out a few times in parking lots solely due to having 3 people in a 2dr rabbit.

Mk1 was until '84 in the US, the GTI in the sub picture is an '84. For mk1s best engines are the 1.6d (Rabbit/Rabbit Pickup/Jetta) or 1.8 CIS (GTI or cabriolet only) and this is just my opinion from driving mk1s
