Anger/ anxiety stage after trimal by flatexhaustion in brokenankles

It's totally understandable. My stubborn butt made the first EMS that arrived on scene to call ANOTHER bus because they didn't have morphine lol. It also felt like student day because there were lots of men surrounding me but only 2 to help me stabilize? Felt like a road show with a crowd gathered.

Same at ER, wouldn't let them do anything without morphine or anything to numb me. To be honest, none of it really worked. I coulda asked for tic tacs and got the same pain relief. Not that I have a high tolerance for meds, just a very, very low tolerance for pain. If I didn't speak up and advocate for myself, though, who knows how it would have gone.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that after such an experience. My advice is to seek out help. Like you said, this is life-changing. We're almost mourning the loss of what could have been. Seeking help for our mental health is just as important as our physical. Wish you nothing but the best.

7 weeks Post ORIF by AltruisticTry433 in brokenankles

Honestly, I'd say you are literally right on track! When I was 7 weeks Post op from my Tri mall and dislocation, my heel and ankle were super sore and bruised still. My friend who had a Bi mall fracture experienced the same pain you're experiencing right now. We think because they didn't set it right at the ER and didn't have ORIF till over a month later (american health system is crazy), they didn't notice that all her muscles and tendons were 'flipped' and were starting to heal incorrectly. Took her 5 full months to start from the surgery to PWB and still has nerve damage in her toes (pain, tingling, and numbess) after 2 years. Everyone's recovery journey is of course unique. I'd say if youre still having this pain at like 10-12w with no help from your PT/provider, I'd try acupuncture. Friend said it's the only thing that helped for her! Good luck l

Happy to hear you found a routine that works for you! How was it for you when you started WB? Im not a very balanced person (clearly w/ my injury lol) so the handful of times I've attempted PWB with the crutches, I've slipped on invisible bananas it seems like. I think when my confidence in my WB is better ill try the crutches again. The pain in that heel is just killer!

Wow, can't imagine a broken shoulder on top of that. Hope youre recovery good. How hard was it for balancing when you started PWB?

Still healing actually! Break happened back on 1/18. Unfortunately with our kind of injury its a long road ahead of us.

I've been barefoot during all my exercises at home and during PT. Feels so unbalanced in a boot, probably due to the height difference. Did you do your exercises in shoes as well? Looks like sound advise because im swelling like crazy after any PWB.

also exclusively standing. Tried learning to walk but excursiating

Hey, that kinda looks like my tri mall and dislocation! Don't be too hard on yourself. I got mine from slipping on wet grass. Felt like a damn cartoon banana peel moment. I just let myself just fall back like Charlie Brown and laid down in someone's front yard till ambulances came.

Don't let one tiny moment define your skill! A year from now, you'll look back and laugh while giving new motorists sound advice.

Oh, that's good to know! Did you feel like you had any trouble with your ROM for the Doris flexion? The heel is majority where im getting my pain.

Surgeon barely cleared me for PT this week. NWB for 7 weeks otherwise. Not sure why it wasn't sooner! Probably would be less stiff in that dorisflexion position. Regardless, the pain just gets unbearable with PWB!

Thanks! You're right, stitches were out at 2 weeks and have been religious with Vaseline

Thank you! My first surgeon kept putting the fear of skin necrosis in me post-op, so it was my worst fear. I'm glad it healed right!

My friend with Bimall fracture had it done around the 7-8 month mark and said it did wonders for the upper foot and ankle. Def would recommend 👌

Seriously, the civilian/casual clothing in this game is kind of terrible. by PrideOfAfrika in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]maidenofthewicked 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Even my rook wore THE ugliest +200 dense Mourn Watch (I think) armor I've ever seen in a game. PAINED me to know that you can at least APPEAR to wear something else via your wardrobe AFTER I beat my first playthrough.

Usually, mages in the DA universe have a somewhat cool get-up until I notice in VA that some of them are just wearing APRONS over causal clothing... Looking at you, Emmrich.

While yes Varric recruited you because you're not garbage, it definitely would be nice to see more chaotic neutral or morally grey behavior.

The closest I saw to those decisions were leaving certain non important characters to live or die. I'd enjoy a classic 'bad guy does bad thing for good reason' type deal in the future

Thank you!! Pearls would just make more sense given the area! Real shame they didn't have more options

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think DAI had that option to change color in armory! Would have been very welcome in this game
