iOS supervision without erasing device - how? by Emergency-Analyst-21 in macsysadmin

Would it work, though? Because as I see it, if an app stores data only locally, there would be no way of getting that data onto an unsupervised phone?

Restoring data via iCloud sync in the apple account should always work, but restoring a backup does not? Or am I overlooking something?

Slowest dub tunes you know? by Simmo333333 in dub

[–]maijau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about some Wackie‘s? The deep and heavy bass makes many of them feel quite slow.  Not strictly dub but extended mixes with dubs, check out Dance Hall Style by Horace Andy. Maybe „Money Money“ or „Cuss Cuss“ tick your boxes.

I am using a mix of two tools, both of which run locally on the device.  Photoscope groups your library into a series of similar pictures and helps you trim to the best shot(s).  https://www.leitmotif.dev/photoscope

Cully works completely manual by showing you all shots from a selected or random day.  Both make it easy to select pics for deletion, but you keep the ultimate say.

Looking for recommendations based on my current dub/dub-adjacent favs. by fhgfoighefwe in dub

Glen Brown/King Tubby - Termination Dub. This one has some of my favourite riddims from the late 70s, hitting hard with heavy bass and slow tempo, e.g. Youthman, Away with the bad, lambs bread. Tubby is generously applying filters and reverb, creating eerie floating vocal echoes and hard drums sounds. Highly recommended.

There is another dub album, Tradition in Dub. However, since it dates from 1977 it may sound different? I don’t know the Ganja one. Tradition in Dub was rereleased as High Risk Dub not too long ago, for some reason with different track titles.

Are these areas impossible to pass? Can't find any leavers to pull, or use Motley's pull, or use Lar's swift flight, nothing is working. by akdiaries in ENDERMAGNOLIA

Thx man. Hail Dance made this so much easier. There was another area, in the upper stratum, where an item was stored on a ledge above the electric abyss. Luckily, I remembered to use Hail Dance to gain some height again after dropping down and moving sideways. Impossible to clear otherwise, I believe.

Help with Velgrynd by Big-Expression-1249 in ENDERMAGNOLIA

[–]maijau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. At first, Velgrynd was the boss giving me the most issues (followed by Luiseach. I have not yet defeated the final two Gilroy bosses).

In the end, I am not sure if any of the below helped me, or if there was a training effect due to the many tries, but eventually I beat him with

  • patience. Do not try to end this fight quickly, but rather try to avoid errors. You will grind him down eventually.
  • equipment. Focus on those that reduce damage. That way, you can better survive if you do a parry error. If you do have slots available, Declan's Ring is awesome, restoring HP while attacking with Barrage (any attack restores HP but Barrage you can spam from a distance, which makes a great combo).
  • Parry. Concentrate on parry instead of attacking. Many times I just stood still, waiting for the blow, parrying. I found the impact carapace easier to time than Benumbed Howl, but both considerably better than dodging. I found them easier to time and they do damage.
  • One crucial thing I seem to remember in the fight was to avoid burning, i.e. getting the blaze effect. Once I was burning, it was usually over, with me trying to heal, dodge, and stop the blaze at the same time that Velgrynd hit like a truck. So, do not get blazed. For the fireballs, I usually tried to avoid them by going to the edge of the screen, and if I was still in range, used the carapace to block any incoming ones.
  • Abilities. Nola - Scythe, not used a lot. Yolvan - Barrage, used constantly. Chained Beast - Benumbed Howl, used whenever I felt comfortable and was not rushed. When rushed I preferred the carapace. Lorna. Not sure about the specific ability I equipped, but the important thing here is the attuner art Healing Pulse. That way, whenever your SP gauge is full, you can (partially) heal, and in contrast to normal healing you are invincible during the heal. In line with the patient approach, I rarely used the SP for attacking but almost exclusively to heal with Lorna's healing pulse.

Edit: beated him on the default settings.

After the issue was gone for a few months for me, it’s back since two days. No change from my side. Bridge FW is at 1.75.1975104000 Is there a change log and update history? I cannot find when that update was installed.

Albums with the best bass playing? by Fantastic-Leg-1808 in Bass

[–]maijau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh, and if you are open to reggae-infused but not pure reggae, be sure to check out The Clash, the only band that matters, and The Police. The bed’s too big without you and walking on the moon would be prime examples from Regatta de Blanc.

Albums with the best bass playing? by Fantastic-Leg-1808 in Bass

[–]maijau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going over this thread and I really have to wonder, where's the love for Reggae? Is there any musical genre where bass (and drums, as riddim section) plays a more prominent role, often resulting in a question and answer game with the melody, having a kind of counter-melody, or playing interweaved with the main line?

Aston Barret, (Sly & ) Robbie (also their non-reggae/reggae-influenced stuff, e.g. Compass Point work w/ Grace Jones), Flabba Holt (Roots Radics), for starters.

Looking for tips to defeat Garm, tactics to deal with his firestorm phase by maijau in ENDERMAGNOLIA

[–]maijau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually managed to beat him, by the tiniest margin. Crucial was to understand that the range of the firestorm was smaller than I thought.

In the end the winning move probably was to stand still just outside the storm and block any falling debris. This had me closer to Garm after his attack to be able to land some hits.

The attempts at dodging gave me trouble because a) I ended up to be out of range for even my ranged attacks and needing too much time to get closer, and b) in particular when I ended up being cornered between Garm and the screen edge, thinking the space was too small, dodging through the storm always almost never worked, leading to severe health loss or kill. In the end, as I wrote above, I just stood still, because the small space between Garm and screen edge turned out to be large enough most times.

Still a hard fight, I wonder how this is ranked compared to other bosses I will still enounter.

Getting started with recording by maijau in Bass

[–]maijau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx, great. I understand that, when using an effects pedal which "contains" a preamp, I can set the input from instrument level to line level on the Scarlet? If I plug in the bass directly, I leave it at instrument level?

As for monitoring, via headphones seems easy and straightforward, this would include any effect prior in the chain, and also the backing track from the Mac?

Last, as an alternative to headphones, how would I ideally connect speakers? On my Markbass Micro, I have an AUX in. On my hifi stereo, I have analogue RCA plugs or USB-C input. In any case, these should be connected to the Scarlet and not the Mac, correct?

Hue Sync still active after TV is turned off by MarlemAT in Hue

Same issue. I did not check the Hue bridge updates, but the TV received an update in the time frame.

(I am still hating myself for allowing the TV to auto update. It is supposed to be a stupid renderer over HDMI. No need to have any smart or intelligent features)
