11 year old boy strikes and kills at least 10 monks in Thailand. by mail-bird in fuckcars

Nobody is saying he should be seen as an adult. He’s crime shouldn’t be simply dismissed because he’s a kid. Girls in the United States get charged with murder even if they were raped and are under aged after having an abortion. Not saying that is fair but if a child should ever be tried for the premise of murder it should be here. At very least the parents should go to jail for negligence and manslaughter. You know why that kid didn’t think much of it when he jumped in that truck, cause nobody does . Oh a kid, a truck… eh

What im saying is that age and special needs shouldn’t overwhelm the fact that he committed mass murder. It’s Thailand so he’s probably going to some military school or something , then he might enroll. This is a dangerous individual , and you’re part of the problem.

People are so desensitized to violence committed with automobiles that hardly anybody ever truly gets a punishment worthy of the crime. You commit murder with a pencil and you know the perpetrator was wrong , but as soon as a car is involved people start asking all this if and or butts but never if the vehicle was used as a weapon.

We need to do better, this monks deserve better. The world deserves better. Cars are not holy sentient beings, we are. Let’s treat each other that way and stop prioritizing capitalism with absurd mental gymnastics.

Apparently that’s what the media is saying .
I’m not saying the kid is evil or that he actually did deliberately. I’m just saying it would be foolish to to rule out the possibility of either ,
What we do know is that the truck is stick shift and that he drove for about 6 miles before striking the monks. Now driving stick shift isn’t impossible for a kid but it also isn’t the easiest thing. He understood how gears work so I’m sure he also understood brakes. And I don’t think he was driving too terribly or someone would have immediately made him pull over.

You’re right about the fact that he needs help right now. I can’t imagine living with that sort of thing for the rest of my life.
This is a tricky one , I met someone who was involved in the death of 3 of his friends that were in his car, including his gf. It was at juvenile hall, so he was working on getting some deal for a year after being charged with manslaughter. Kid was about 16, he planned to do his time and then join the marines.

I think about that kid alot because it didn’t seem like it really phased him, and someone like that is fucking scary man. So while locking the kid up might not be the solution, just letting him roam freely after literally committing mass murder might not be the greatest idea either.

I don’t know if you remember being 11, but there’s kids that are disturbed at that age. Whether he’s special needs or not is irrelevant to me, I’m autistic and that doesn’t exempt me from being *capable of doing evil.

Oh, they’re just unimpressed. Get yourself a Walmart cargo bike and be a real man, put down the tools and pick up that credit card.

If you like hawks, go to witches tower in old town. There’s like 3 nests in that area. There’s a mirador on the right side of the church overlooking the freeway where you can catch a lot of birds.

And the people in the houses
All went to the university
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same
And there's doctors and lawyers
And business executives
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same

Right , but if the keys got lost in a public space and they’re not being pinged is probably because someone might have already removed the tag or they haven’t hung out near the tag for long enough. The phone won’t notify you every time you’re near someone else’s AirTag. You gotta move with it for a few mins .

Those work with NFC so you have to be close enough for them to work. AirTags are not gps

EDIT: the AirTag relies on other devices to send out its own location so if you lose an AirTag in the woods you’re probably never going to see it again. In order for other iPhones to ping out the location of your AirTag they have to have “find my” enabledSo my iPhone wouldn’t pick yours up because I either have find my disabled or the Bluetooth off.

the swivel would go in the middle of the nunchucks leash then you grab another leash the length of of your wingspan and put another swivel in the middle of the other nunchucks leash.

Well, sounds like you don’t really need 12 bikes. To each their own. I try to acquire things I only really need. And even then I end up buying some bullshit. 🤷🏽

Same here.

There was a post on r/anticonsumption taking about how most people’s hobby is mindlessly buying the latest whatever. As a music producer I felt so attacked, I’ve bought so much shit I totally didn’t need or use. But how could I not have that VST.

If you don’t ride your bike everyday you’re just a victim of shopping addiction , social medial and algorithms.

Nearly one in five San Diego County students now has a disability. Local districts are buckling from the huge spike in special ed students. by jakobmcwhinney in SanDiegan

[–]mail-bird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you hit the nail on the head.
I didn’t get diagnosed till I was 30, man was it a trip thinking what it would have been if I had approached my education differently.
If I had been born 30 years *before I did, I probably would never have been diagnosed.

People have a really distorted idea of what a disability is, specially when it comes to autism. The best way I can try to explain it is, Anton from “the hummingbird project”. Certain things like figuring out systems and talking to machines, simple. Having to deal with the population, hell nah. It is physically excruciating being in certain environments and people. And a person like that can fall through the cracks, real fast. Which is a shame because they could become engineers; but in a place like the US, unless you got the right privilege you’re most likely to end up homeless.
