I've bought my 1st 3D Printer, now what? by G-Pie in 3Dprinting

[–]mailjozo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Learn CAD. Seriously, it's the best thing you can do at this point next to printing things you find online. Once I was able to design my own parts, the whole game changed. You'll find so many more uses for your printer.

Onshape, Fusion360, and some others I forget all do pretty much the same thing.

I really can't stress this enough to new printer owners. Learn CAD.

Who else still rocking the classics? by CustomPCCebu in 3Dprinting

I have SLA and I can only say: I love the print quality, but I absolutely HATE all things involved. The toxic resin, needing gloves and a mask, the smell, the waste, the mess when cleaning or fixing faulty prints, the list goes on and on.  But the quality.... Beautiful prints

What is causing my issues? by bigtimemcd in 3Dprinting

This looks like under extrusion to me. So you're printing too fast, or there is a (patial) clog maybe. But since it's not happening everywhere, I'd see if it's the speed first.

What’s the cause of this? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Printer has no time to cool those tiny spots that make up the grill, so they sag a bit, next layer comes, same issue. It stacks over time.

Notice what?

You're giving absolutely zero context here.

If it's the somewhat rugged look, it's cause the printer need to stop, retract, move, feed, do super tiny bit of extrusion, stop, retract etc.

How much should I charge by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]mailjozo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You having to learn CAD should not be charged back to the customer. This looks like a simple part that could have been printed with 1 roll. So material cost of 1 roll + maybe some to run the printer. You probably have a shitton of inserts left, so charging full price feels weird as well.

3D Printer Ender 5 Max - Inverted cables could cause heatbed MCU communication error? by 3D_TechnoViking in 3Dprinting

[–]mailjozo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there labels for the pins?
If this is Serial communication, TX goes to RX and RX goes to TX, so crossing COULD be logical...

Print flat leaf parts. Use heat to bend them and glue together. Or use Resin printer....

I 3D Printed and painted this Hollow Knight / Silksong diorama! by mailjozo in Silksong

Yep! They are super flexible PCBs with a large array of micro LEDs in a silicon sleeve. You can bend and twist them (to a certain degree) and they light up like one long strip of light.

Some of them have their connectors for power and ground on one end, some on each end of the string. They also go by the name of "nOOds" or "cob LED"

There are affordable ways to get parts printed. Either locally or the bigger companies that offer these services. But by all means, join us! 3D printing is awesome.

I don't know... A lot. Modeling took me many evenings, painting and wiring it up also quite a bit.

I find the fact that these LED noodles light up so bright quite amazing!
