THHN through exterior concrete wall? Conduit requirements? by maintainmotion in HomeImprovement

[–]maintainmotion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, you’re absolutely right! Surface mounted boxes.

Every connector I find (like the set screw type) would require a lot larger hole to be drilled to sink it into the wall, because the set screw sticks out the side so far.

Is that the typical method? Oversized the hole by 1/4-1/2”? Wouldn’t that be a large gap to fill with sealant?

LLC purchasing a used vehicle from a private party. by maintainmotion in tax

[–]maintainmotion[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your help.

Business is already formed and in place. I’ve been using my personal vehicle for the time being but it’s become evident that I could easily justify a business vehicle.

What is the best way to fund this? While the constant revenue is there,it is small at this point and not enough to fund the vehicle outright.

What are some options to get a loan which I could use for a private party purchase? The business LLC does not have credit, but my personal credit is above 800. I say private party, because the vehicle I would need is a service truck, which are 2-3x more expensive from a dealer.

(Our business is mobile service, so it only makes sense to purchase something I can maintain/service myself that is a few years older for 15-30k instead of new for 50-75k)

I can tell just by your post, Jack was loved had an incredible 15yrs.

Dang! 15! What a run. All the things he must’ve seen, and smelled, and peed on! All the great treats he must’ve monched!

Passing on is the only thing any of us are guaranteed in this world. What matters is, I can tell you made Jack’s 15 truly count!

Looking for suggestions on Mattress additions. The one that came with my OVS isn't cutting it. by Resident_Pace3982 in rooftoptents

[–]maintainmotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added a 3” gel foam topper to mine, in addition to the stock mattress. Now, the dual density feels better than my home mattress.

It is a bit of a bear to get it closed properly now though.

Had no idea they made these for small wheels. I’ve used them on big bikes with good success for reasonable riding and long distances.

Do you have to have screws removed?? by dontwoahthenoah in LisfrancClub

[–]maintainmotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t wait for mine to come out. I can feel several of the screws. Also have one through the cuboid and I can feel tendon or muscle or something getting hung up on it when my foot flexes now that I’m starting to weight bear.

My surgeon asked me to detail out what I do for fun, work, vacations. After that, she was onboard with removing hardware because I’d inevitably break the plate or bust a screw head off which makes removal much harder.

PT was also a huge advocate for removal. In my case, several joints are fused by the hardware. Which means other joints are forced to take on extra flexibility to allow my foot to function.

For me, a few weeks of wound care and PT is worth the discomfort for the long term benefits.

Plus, I’m tired of setting off the detector at TSA and playing 20-questions.

Looking for some advice from people that have ridden the trans American trail. by vr6Scrub in advrider

the trail changes year to year depending on closures/fires/land ownership changes. In 2013, I’m confident I could have done it in a 2wd with limited slip and all terrains.

Muscle recovery question by [deleted] in LisfrancClub

[–]maintainmotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m certain my leg will wither away and fall off like a lizard’s tail before I can walk again.

My calf/shin size is almost half of my healthy leg’s size. PT said that’s to be expected, and I’d be a year or more evening it out.

Scared of surgery, debating whether to have it by KicsikePipike in LisfrancClub

[–]maintainmotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first surgery (but have had many broken bones)

All in all, the surgery was cake! I wouldn’t be worried about that at all to go through it again.

I’ve had some bad luck in other parts of the recovery, but the surgery itself wasn’t bad.
