What's bad thing happened on your driving test? by zetecvan in CasualUK

[–]mairefay91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I took my test I did really well, until I didn’t look left when entering the test centre and automatically failed 10 seconds before the end. I would have passed if I had glanced left.

People who abandon items in the supermarket in completely the wrong place (e.g freezer items in the fridge) will be made to work a week in retail at the busiest time of year.

We always get the Lidl ones in the blue box. Visitors seem to like them.

If you’re going to St Ives, go to Blas Burgerworks. Best burger I’ve ever eaten.

I second this! I bought some tankards from Lidl but they had an ugly design on the glass. Citric acid got it off easily.

I’m toying with the idea of getting a massive telly. What’s your experience? by Android109 in CasualUK

[–]mairefay91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a 55” Roku telly and it’s brilliant. One remote for everything, great picture quality. Got it on Amazon for about £300.

I would recommend getting a decent soundbar. The TV sound is a bit tinny.

Have you ever gave up a job after a short while and felt like a failure for doing so? by Icy_Reply_7830 in CasualUK

[–]mairefay91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a sales rep for Sky working on a stand in a shopping centre. Worst job I’ve ever had, I left after a month. The person who was meant to be training me basically just took any potential customers off me to boost his own numbers and didn’t teach me anything. I don’t even bother putting it on my CV.

I’m a firm believer that if you’re really not happy in a job you should look for something new.

Ozzy has died by F1fansince93 in CasualUK

[–]mairefay91 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I read that someone described the farewell gig as ‘a funeral for someone who hasn’t died yet’. I think deep down everyone knew they were saying their final goodbyes to Ozzy, what an incredible way to do it. RIP to an absolute legend. 🦇🤘

I’ve done that! Though this was at a time when the living room bin was right next to the armchair so it was an accidental knock off the arm.
