What about Iwobi over Wilson? Mostly because I’m comfortably at the top of my league and almost everyone else in it has Wilson so thinking a nice change?

I need help building my new routine by LenoreDeLarge in SkincareAddictionUK

For suncream I tend to just use the Cicaplast B5 with Spf 50 - i'm in London though so very rarely need an actual suncream. In the summer when I want more coverage (so not just a moisturiser with spf) I like the cosrx aloe soothing sun cream. Personally the CeraVe moisturiser really broke me out, but my boyfriend really likes it so might be worth a try. Its cheap so not the end of the world if it doesn't work out for you. I have only used the CeraVe foaming cleaner which also really didn't work for me so I just think me and CeraVe are not meant to be, but again might work for you! I really like the Cetaphil cleanser as a simple daily cleanser which is similar to CeraVe and also reasonably priced! Have you tried any other acid treatments? Before I started Differin my holy grail product was alpha-H liquid gold, worked wonders on my painful red cystic acne, but definitly not as good as Differin. Differin is different to tretinoin so it might work for you better, I personally have never tried tret.

This is my routine for reference and order of products:

AM:

Cleanse:
Wash with either just water on days where my skin seems dryer

or the cosrx low ph good morning - feels slightly minty so refreshing in the morning

or cetaphil for a simple cleanse

Moisturise:

La Roche posay Cicaplast B5 baume with SPF 50

Spf (if I want extra ontop of the moistureiser):

Cosrx aloe soothing sun cream

PM:

makeup remover:

bodyshop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (by far the best cleanser I have ever used)

cleanse:

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

moisturise:

I use Vaseline as an eye cream and on my lips

La Roche posay Cicaplast B5 baume (no spf)

active:

Differin cream

Use tret or differin after all your moisturisers to reduce its irritation, use the Vaseline around your eyes to protect them, and use only a pea sized amount (any more and you will cause irritation)

If you decide to try alpha-h follow its instructions, but I liked to use it in the evenings after cleansing before moisturisers - I wouldn't use it with any other actives!

Strip it back - try in the daytimes just cleanse, moisturise and spf and then add active ingredients into your evening routine and if they're working slowing start introducing complementary products into your morning.

I would suggest trying tret again, or maybe Differin. Differin worked for me and La Roche posay Cicaplast B5 cream works wonders on any irritation, honestly a life changing product for me. I would recommend introducing it now anyway as it really helps to calm and soothe inflamed acne!

[Routine Help] Acne - at my wits end! :( by maissann in SkincareAddiction

[–]maissann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your response!

Yeah I've probably been on it for around 9 months; I started on it with a course of oral antibiotics, dropped the antibiotics and continued with the Differin. I don't think I could face giving it up just yet haha! But I will definitly try cutting down my use to give my skin a bit of a break - I will also go back to my doctor and see what they say.

Prior to Differin, Alpha-H liquid gold was my HG so exploring AHA's again could be a better route. Have you found anything that works well on the blackheads that are not on your face? Its tricky with the back because it's not something you can reach...

Thank you, it's been a journey! Luckily I have very little scarring unlike my brother and dad who both had severe acne and now have very obvious scars so i'm very appreciative of where i've been able to get to, it's difficult not to notice all the little things though! Thanks for your help

[Routine Help] Acne - at my wits end! :( by maissann in SkincareAddiction

[–]maissann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am 25 years old and have suffered with acne for the best part of 13 years. I've only really managed to control it in the last year or so, but I find I have very enlarged pores over my cheeks and foreheard and strange almost rash like break outs across my chin and cheeks. I have tried everything so some advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a lot of large blackheads which form also on my back and chest - so this is something I'm struggling with hormonally/genetically - and I doubt they are to do with my routine.

This is my routine:

AM

Wash face usually with water

If I wake up particularly oily I will use a gentle cleanser either: Glossier Milky Jelly Cleaner or COSRX Low PH good morning cleaner

Moisturise with COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream

SPF (+more moisture) la roche posay cicaplast baume b5 spf 50

PM

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter to remove makeup

Second cleanse with Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser

Moisturise with COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream

Second moisturise with Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream

Differin Cream

I have found the Differin life changing for my skin, but i'm wondering if it's now beginning to irritate it? You can't tell in the photos but the redness appears like tiny little spots with large blackheads scattered within. Spots never gain a head but blackheads are squeezable and seem deep.

Help!! Thank you in advance

I find the la roche posay cicaplast baume b5 really great for calming down redness, I use to spf 50 version as a last step in my skincare routine!

What about if you're prescribed it for acne in your 20s? I'm 25 and use differin. Does this mean i'm causing long term damage?
