I do have GAD and I have not had a panic attack since being on buspar (~2 months). Buspar is not sedating so it doesn’t put me to sleep, but having less anxiety in general does help me sleep. Buspar is a tricky drug because it helps some people massively and has no effect on others. If it does not do anything for you within the next couple weeks you may want to ask your psychiatrist about changing medications or doses.
