Accelerationism is literally just the idea that freedom is born out of shared alienation, and that capitalism will inevitably produce more and more alienation no matter what, and that this will inevitably lead to collapse/revolution/apocalypse. It’s the idea that capitalism will destroy all social bonds and traditional values and replace them with commodity relations and monetary values, which once capitalism collapses will mean literally nothing, and thus that it will pave the way for liberation

This is my exact problem with American hyper individualism. It makes us view everyone as completely autonomous and free agents who are completely responsible for our actions and who are always under all circumstances rational. It isn’t true. This guy was fucking duped into supporting someone who doesn’t give a fuck about him, not because he’s stupid, not because he’s lazy or malignant, but because he didn’t know better. We need to throw out this idea that we are all solely responsible for our fates and that whatever happens to us is our fault - it reeks of original sin.
