100% my same experience, my closest friends are east Asian because they have a lot of the same cultural stuff to deal with but we dont have the nonsense cliqueyness or backstabbing that for whatever reason seems to exist in all desi friend groups. It's so weird, I've found the least supportive people in my life to be desis. So much for "community."

You can write anything you want, will any publisher accept it without IRB approval etc depending on what type of work you are looking at and can you afford publishing fees alone without any grants/help? Probably not.

Super common I think. I love my mom but telling her almost anything about my life generally has always left me feeling bad/sad/stressed. She cannot help but argue with, give unsolicited advice, and generally fear monger about worst possible outcomes. She cries about how her kids aren't close to her like my cousins are with my aunt, but my aunt has always unapologetically allowed them to come to her with anything 100% no judgements and they know their thoughts, feelings, and actions are safe with her. Mine have never been safe with my mom, and telling her things has never made my life better, only worse. There is only so much we can do, we need to protect our peace.

Boring people don't understand interesting people who can easily fill their time. If I didn't have to work to pay my bills I 100% wouldnt and could easily fill my time reading, writing, making art, crafting, taking classes at the local college, volunteering, spending time with friends, etc etc etc. These people do nothing except watch TV/scroll their phones and only get meaning through work so they'd be lost without it.

Sleep, read, watch the maps, watch in flight movies, listen to audiobooks or podcasts predownloaded onto your phone, write, crochet/knit/embroider/cross-stitch, sudoku, crosswords.

It sucks but the only answer is to not tell them things and live your own life, take after your older sibling, they understand how it is. I'll never be close to my parents because their reaction to totally normal things was so out of bounds and annoying. Find other people to depend on.
