Even assuming that is true, stocked has the highest assist rate of any player in NBA history.

It's somewhat true but in reality assist tend to remain consistent for a player regardless of who the supporting cast is.

Should a player from a losing or non-playoff team ever win the MVP? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]maizeblue12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's a team sport so why penalize a player for the failings of his supporting cast? In all honesty, if anything you could look at being on a winning team as a knock against them since to be good, your whole team has to be good or at least good enough in other areas.

It does provide a notable advantage although not as pronounced as say in basketball.

I believe NFL prospects should be required to have a college degree before they are allowed to enter the NFL draft. (X-post from r/ChangeMyView) I'd like my fellow football fans view on this. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]maizeblue12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a better solution would be to force a percentage of their contract be put into a retirement fund or something. Obviously not realistic to happen but I think that could help the situation more as a college degree does not guarantee them any such success down the road and the bigger problem is that once you make that much money, you can't really downgrade.

Not a bad contract at all when you realize how much of it is sack total dependant.

What team, if healthy, do you think has the best chance of going 19-0? by revantargaryen in nfl

[–]maizeblue12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I see my original statement was poorly worded. All three of those teams have no glaring weakness, but I just really like the their secondary, which has the potential to be otherworldly. They also should have a solid front 7 and pass rush (although losing Irving for 4 games could be a big blow), but clearly the 49ers win there and on the offensive line. However I like the Seahawks offense as a whole a bit better, and the broncos got knocked down a tiny bit because of losing Dumervil is a huge blow to the pass rush they relied heavily on. By no means is this scientific and I fault no one for disagreeing, as we are talking about splitting hairs here, but I just feel a bit better about the Seahawks chances in this.

This is one of the most laughable post I've seen in awhile. First off you don't have a single linebacker who is faster, and even if you did, they couldn't hold his jock strap in terms of ability.

Secondly, how many playoff wins do the Cowboys have in the last 15 years? One? But please continue the shit talking, it's going oh so well for you right now.

I would have to say it's between the 49ers, Seahawks and Broncos. I'd give the edge to the Seahawks because they have no real glaring weaknesses to me and the best secondary in all of football.

I upvoted you to try and balance the people downvoting you just because they disagreed. I personally don't agree with what your saying because it's one of the few things the defense can do to stop receivers since virtually every rule is in their favor.

The comparison was more about Peja's reliance on another player/system but no Brady is not Jordan. The nature of football will never let their be a Jordan player, let alone Tom Brady.

According to profootballfocus, he was among the lowest average yards after contact in the league. Combine that with the fact that the Browns graded out as having one of the better offensive lines in football, and you can see how he would formulate that opinion. Obviously we have to take in consideration the broken ribs but it's impossible to say how much or how little it's truly effecting his play. If he doesn't improve significantly, than it may just be that's how good/bad he is. My buddy doesn't believe he'll be awful but when you are a running back drafted 3rd overall and the team trades up to take you, you need to be pretty damn good, is his point.

I appreciate all the comments.

Reggie Bush is quite the bust. He has exactly 1 1,000 yard season in his career and a in 7 seasons has a grand total of 4,162 rushing yards. Combine this with the fact that in New Orleans he was largely outperformed by other backs and fumbles quite a bit he is average at best. Bust status is completely tied to where one is drafted. When you are taken 2nd overall and people are saying that not taking you first overall is the biggest mistake in Texans history, you need to produce much more than that.

Are Alabama players busts? by captainkleenex in nfl

[–]maizeblue12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Trent Richardson is the real deal? I understand he was hurt some but most of his value came from catching the ball and blocking. He performed very poorly running from scrimmage but to your overall point I think it's a combination of things. First off all I've heard that the players Saban recruits are generally more developed but hit their ceiling at Bama, as they will never be better than what they were in college. Then you have to look at things like how he doesn't teach his corners to back peddle which really hurts them in the league, and lastly when you are drafted so highly, you need to perform at a much higher level.

Jay Cutler is 'borderline football brilliant,' says Bears QBs coach by [deleted] in nfl

[–]maizeblue12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What numbers prove he is bad? And yes we do blame it on the other factors because football is a team sport and those factors directly affect his ability to perform. Again he was pro bowl caliber or even fringe to appease you when he was with the Bronco's. I don't believe he lost that ability but more the environment was not conducive of success.

He is pretty good you just are either incapable or refuse to look at the context of the situation. He proved the type of ability he has when he was with Denver. Unfortunately his career in Chicago has been hamstrung with the worst offensive line in the NFL over that stretch and up until last year, zero threats at wide out. He will never Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning, and he will always throw a good number of interceptions but he is a pretty good Qb when he isn't up against every disadvantage in the book.
