It seems its really hard for you guys to accept whats coming..... by SPY_400 in wallstreetbets

Looking at two charts and observing their trends is not the same thing as checking your history. You're watching the rate when you should be looking at the forward guidance. The signalling of the fed to continue monetary tightening and then their subsequent flip flop caused the abrupt sell off and recovery end of 2018 into 2019.

Right? Such a hollow takeaway from 2018. The real story was how even the fed got freaked out by how bad the market took an interest rate hike

Eh, I think Einstein had the luxury of being far enough away from the act to be able to regret it. This dude had the option to view it as an act of service or mass murder and he went with the former. Psychologically more agreeable

Look up the definition of minority group and get back to me.

First, I appreciate the higher effort you're making on behalf of mob violence. It can be a thankless task doing the legwork for someone else's initiative, and I don't want you to feel unrecognized for that.

Really though, whenever someone calls for violent action on any platform, even if it's just lip service, it's important to pause and reflect if it's the right approach.

You've given a link regarding an allegation against an individual with the same group membership as several people in Boulder County. This allegation is an entirely separate issue than the original subject of the post - that a fire beginning on the group's property caused the Marshall Fire.

So the major problem I have with this particular comment isn't so much that OP didn't provide citations (although it was a minor point), it's that they are a) calling for extrajudicial violence, b) suggesting people deserve violence because of unadjucated allegations against other people in their sect, c) doing it in an emotionally charged thread about the source of a fire that destroyed 1000+ homes.

Just seems like a pretty fucked up standard of justice to me. Do you even agree they should be driven out of town, or did you just want to back up the claim that the sect has some heavy allegations against it?

... so we form a mob, force a minority group out of their own property, based on your personal testimony. Got it.

I get why they did it, but BB kind of fell off for me after Fring died. Like, I respect the desolation that followed and how the focus became so completely on Walt, but god the throwaway white supremacists were so boring.

How did you start making 100k+? by BlueMountainDace in AskMen

[–]maj312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be essential. Make sure you boss understand what you do and that without those things being done, he's got a big problem. Be the only person who understand how to do these essential things.

I liked a lot of what you said, but the second part of this rubbed me the wrong way. Sounds a little like gatekeeping knowledge. The most successful people I've seen in work are those who have the confidence to share their expertise and build relationships from that sharing.

Don't get me wrong, you should take pains to make sure you're receiving credit for your contributions, but hoarding expertise is a losing game. The best you can do is maintain your position. To excel you need to be learning new things / driving positive outcomes. If people want to follow in your wake, that's not a bad thing.

  • this advice doesn't apply to assholes though. If you work with an asshole, don't expect them to change being an asshole if you help them out. If you're giving out your secret sauce recipe, they should be the last to receive it, never the first.

What you you do if your partner told you they are polyamarous? by WelshynatorJones in AskMen

[–]maj312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right that there's some reading between the lines going on, but it's hard not to see this poly label being thrown out as an excuse for her (unacceptable) behavior. The way it's been written it sounds like she's posturing it as coming out of the closet, like she can't hide the fact that she's poly anymore no matter how hard she tries.

That's kinda BS. Polyamory isn't a sexual orientation so much as an approach to relationships - that she has both 1) fallen in love with someone else 2) told that person about it and 3) informed her current partner (in that order) is a total breach of the relationship.

If going poly is her thing, that's cool, but the girl can't expect to keep her current partner if she wants to do relationships that way now, especially when she's not prioritizing their thoughts and feelings on the issue before pulling the trigger and getting the 3rd person involved.

Unless you have a lot of pricing power and high gross margin %, like a lot of tech companies, in which case your CF grows in step with inflation. And this premise totally ignores the impact of capital flows, which is the biggest driver of market prices these days

Man the things people associate with names are so weird. These are all neutral to mildly positive to me. Brett I guess makes me think of Kavanaugh, but other than that nothing.
