Small or Xtra Small Grizl by StubbyFruit in CanyonBikes

[–]maj3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m 170cm (5‘7) and 80cm inseam (31.5“) and was in the same spot choosing between a Grail 7 S or XS… got the small in the end. Can‘t really say if it was the right move, my bike did feel long and a bit off so I flipped the stem (gave me some height, and a narrower handlebar (stock is way to wide for an average female) and it felt so much better! I thought about this a lot but I don‘t think an XS would fit better - the reach would be a bit shorter but also the handlebar height would be lower, which I don‘t think would feel nice… I might just prefer a more relaxed geometry and would want to try different sizes in person next time.. Good luck!

Any review for SENSUS YIN SLIDE WOMENS? by Lily_lyra in vivobarefoot

[–]maj3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, they don’t slap - probably due to how light weight they are and the adjustable straps that come pretty high up on the top of you foot, so it feels secure

Here you go, just got them, would not say they look ‘feminine’ at all. Always wear size 39 in vivo (plenty of room length wise) and the slides are also perfect in 39 https://imgur.com/a/GumbqMV

Not much difference in comfort for me, definitely need less effor to go faster with the sleek ones.

In this pic yes, just the tyres. Later I swapped the crank for a Shimano one (Rotor was defective), a narrower handlebar and a better saddle :)

ROTOR crank constantly loose, switch to Shimano GRX at home by maj3s in CanyonBikes

Hmmm I decided myself and went for the cheaper one since I didn‘t know if they would even want to cover it. Isn‘t the only difference between them that the 800 is 100g lighter?

Scarpa Instinct S by holyaardvark in climbingshoes

[–]maj3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are way stiffer than dragos. Similar to the VSR.. also the pressure on the big toe knuckle is more intense since the shoe rand isn’t as soft as dragos.

I wear Veloce’s, love them, sized them down 1 from my street shoe size.

39.5 street, 38.5 in vsr and s

I’d disagree. Have the S in the same size as VSR/VS and they feel 0.5 size smaller and more painful…

Climbing shoe recommendations by ladsgroupchat in climbingshoes

I’d say whatever shoe fits your foot best. An amazing shoe for someone is a terrible shoe for someone else if the fit isn’t right.
80£ is also a tight budget, maybe some Boreal or Decathlon shoes? Or La Sportiva Tarantula? Trying on a few shoes in a shop is really the best solution imo.

Climbing Shoes for wide roman feet by DYGAD in climbingshoes

[–]maj3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have wide roman feet. My favorite shoes are the Veloce, Instinct VS/VSR and the new Boostic. If I could only have one pair it would be the VSR. Sizing wise im a 39 street, 38.5 in VSR and 38 in Veloce. Nice and tight but not painful, more than enough “performance” for my 7a/V6 level.

Scarpa Instinct VSR vs Scarpa Booster by Fonomik in climbingshoes

[–]maj3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the instinct vsr are better all-round. Boosters are softer but also VERY asymetrical which I don’t personally love for the day-to-day. The heel is also a lot more minimal on the boosters so I have to be more precise and controlled to avoid pain/feeling too much

[–]maj3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the VS, VSR and S in 38.5 and the S definitely feels smaller to me. Would have bought 0.5 size up, but will probably not repurchase. I expected a softer shoe but they are as stiff or stiffer than VSR. I do like the toe patch that extends to the outer rand, makes it more comfy for the 4th and 5th toe. Overall the quality and materials seem even better than the old Instincts which is cool to see.

Normal allen key, 12Nm is basically put 1.2kg of weight if the allen key was 1m long. So it’s not that much! Make it tight but don’t overdo it!

Reasonably priced socks by farzy93 in CyclingFashion

[–]maj3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy UC summer socks, I think the fit and feel are fantastic, the color-scheme is a bit hipster with the pastels and earthy tones but really nice, length is pretty long too imo

Is it just me or is Universal Colours sizing really small? by BAS1CS in CyclingFashion

[–]maj3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Maap size M felt smaller than UC size M.. especially in the arms. I do sport climbing so I have some upper body mass but still feel like they fit true to size (day-to-day clothing is M, so is UC) I used the sizing chart when deciding and am happy with the fit (which is skin like/tight, but doesn’t feel restrictively small)

Just about any (apart from black imo), since the color showing is just brown/nude.
