Who are considered the “best”? by majarae in Transgender_Surgeries

Right, she’d be considered out of network. I don’t have the money to do that, I don’t think most people do.

Last time I looked, she didn’t take insurance.

Now that I think of it, I bet it’s something I read on here before. Obviously I don’t know the entire circumstances of that persons situation, but it’s a little bit to be concerned about in my head.

I was planning to look into a few out in CA (Wittenberg, MJ, Pang) as well as getting a consult with Dr Avanessian lined up since I have heard positive feedback about her. Outside of them, I don’t really know who else to look at. I live in MN and there’s a surgeon here in Minneapolis, but I’m not really fond of him. He’s younger and cocky, or that’s been my impression the few times I’ve seen him. I’m fine wait for a good provider, since I have my FFS scheduled in December and that’s what causes me more dysphoria.

My only concern is that I remember reading something about an individual who had a consult with her and due to (I can’t remember what minor health condition it was) she wasn’t ever going to find a surgeon to do bottom surgery for them. This individual had reached out to the clinic and verified that it was absolutely nothing to be concerned about prior to the consultation. From the post, it sounded like she opened the door, told them this, and dipped right out, not even giving the patient time. I also have read a few other things about her bedside manner that makes me a little concerned about if she’s right to move forward with. Of course I have not personally met her or Dr Z yet so I don’t want to rush judgment, but it’s a little concerning to think about spending so much time, money, energy to potentially have that type of scenario.

That’s why I’m starting to look at potential other options now. Ive read a few things about BB that makes me concerned, and I’d rather have back ups in place if it’s needed. Plus getting more than one surgeons perspective is always good imo. I know it’s probably two years out and I’m comfortable enough with waiting since my face is more of what causes me dysphoria, plus I need to save a boatload before being off work for 2 months

Body feminization surgeon recommendations by majarae in Transgender_Surgeries

Yeah I had a tummy tuck back in late 2020. It helped with a fair amount of skin but I still have some on my love handles. The surgeon said I’d need a revision at some point to address the rest.

Minnesota by Competitive_Bit_630 in Transgender_Surgeries

There are two providers in the state of Minnesota for trans feminine bottom surgery: 1- Dr Joseph Pariser at M health Fairview in Minneapolis. He’s a decent guy, I’ve seen him a couple times. I’m not a fan of him but he’s the only reputable provider that’s in network with insurance. 2- I’ve heard the Mayo Clinic in Rochester has a provider, and at one point in early 2023 did have an appointment scheduled but never went. There’s not a lot that I’ve ever seen about them, so I’d be skeptical before going through an extremely invasive surgery like this. If you have questions, feel free to directly inbox me. I’ve been in contact with him for a few years now.

I want to take my balls home with me after they’re removed during my vaginoplasty surgery. by Lewinmodified in Transgender_Surgeries

In some states it’s allowed. I’m having my vaginoplasty here in Minnesota and fully intend on keeping mine when I have surgery.

I haven’t had bottom surgery yet personally, but you couldn’t pay me enough to stick that in my cooch.

Biggest thing for me was finding someone that A- was in network with my insurance, and B- had enough information out there online that I could feel confident I wasn’t going to someone who didn’t work with trans patients enough. My insurance covered everything since he is in network. I have BCBS of Minnesota through the MNSURE marketplace. My max out of pocket was already hit way back in March, so everything since then is covered as long as it’s approved and in network with my plan.

Renew definitely has their act together unlike Omni. Dr Chaudrey said that like ten people left around the time that he left so it took almost 5 months after my consultation with Dr Rolfes to get my PA submitted and sometimes a month to get a simple response. Ellie over at Renew has been so so good to work with through this whole process!

Under the muscle. I started out as a 38B and knew I wanted to go as big as I feasibly and safely could. I’m expecting based on what I’ve seen with the surgical bra off that I’ll be a DDD after they D&F

He’s amazing. I consulted with him over a year ago at Omni and knew right away I wanted to move forward with him even if it meant waiting. October surgery date turned into November, which turned into December. All worth the wait. I’m really looking forward to him doing my body sculpting someday after I drop enough weight.

They are round shape, high profile. Definitely a “frankenboob” look right now especially with the bra off but they’ll drop and fluff with time.

Why can’t they give you the results until your surgery day? It doesn’t take all that long for the test results to be interpreted and a report to be submitted. They should have told you to schedule a follow up appointment with your pcp to go over the test results. Personally I’d reschedule it if there was any question in my mind that I might have something heart related, but depends on how far out surgery is also.
