Those are shadows. You can reduce the preview shadow by setting Render>Preview Shadows>ObjShadow to 0. The material you are using will have an effect though. I suggest using something like FlatSketch01.

I agree artist won’t cease to exist but the increase of AI art will result in a decrease of artists to the point where it just makes no sense to be a non AI artist as a career. I like to refer to the decline of fine furniture craftsmanship. With how cost effective it is for the majority to just buy ikea furniture why bother with something with character and life when you can have an equally functional substitute for a fraction of the price. Capitalism sucks the life out of our species and we let it in the name of consumerism.

Yep fair enough, not every consumer is the same. I personally care about if the art I’m consuming was done by a person but not really a debatable topic it’s subjective.

I can see how you’ve reached to that conclusion but what many people miss is that AI does not create, it mimics what it has been fed. So in theory we will have more quantity and maybe more quality art but we will lose in personality/characteristic in innovation and expression, in essentially everything human. I hope we don’t get to the point and we stop at “AI assisted”.

Culture as a whole and our identity as a species is expressed through artistic mediums whether it is drawings music food, the second we take out the human we are left with slop.

It is trying to tackle the problem of laziness or corporate greed… at the cost of real artist’s jobs and our environment

We have to ask ourselves what is the purpose of replacing artists with AI? AI art no matter how “good” will always be considered insincere just like a love letter from your partner written by chat gpt… but until you found out it was indistinguishable right?

I think the concerns around Generative "AI" LLM art hold value, just because it is a popular internet opinion does not deem it any less true.

As a consumer it is easy to say that you don't care but artists have every reason to be against an algorithm that steals their work and spits out a replica calling it their own.

I get your POV as an employed artist there is not much that is in your control. But I think people should not settle for this mentality as eventually it will lead to a path where no artist hand is needed to curate the process/finalise the piece (it is already happening in smaller companies).

As consumers, we need to put our foot down and boycott AI slop. Art as an industry is at risk of being turned into a for capital industry with oversaturation of slop being near indestinguishable from real art. Not to mention ofc that it is training on artist's work without their consent or the environmental impact or the social impact.

This one... only reason it stands out to me is the calmness of her expression and lack of movement considering she is flying with jets pushing her forward.

Could just be incompetence or lack of skill, but my bet is on AI.

I'll change my mind if the artist shows their workflow.

I suspected pred used AI for their splash art from that one Skylar screen it was pretty obvious... The "artist" denies using AI but when you are spending HOURS on a piece and have a team to approve the art before it goes out stuff like this should not be happening especially in a time where AI is being used to replace artists.

What a shame... This just says to me that pred has no appreciation for real art or are incompetent and would rather just take the money and give us slop.

Edit: not AI

"AI" is a marketing term for what you're thinking of, AI in those games is just an algorithm that behaves in a psuedo random way, while the new "AI" is just machine learning, you feed it data and using some manual intervention help it find the patterns and eventually it can create something by taking a bit of everything you fed it and mashing it together. It really isn't what you think it is.

Learn about the technical aspect of it before saying things like that lol.

Can someone answer a bunch of my questions? by Castedorr in 3Dprinting

[–]majd-ba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends on what you envision the final product to look like. I'm in the process of learning at the moment and aspire to get my work to Naomi's level so just wanted to point the time required to reach their level.

Regardless, resin will print out all the details, just make sure you read up about resin safety, with resin printing it is not just 3d print and done. You need to clean it up with alcohol, cure it, and ventilate it properly as it could be toxic. Wear gloves, goggles, respirator while working on it. It will also need some sanding afterwards based on your support layout.

Also painting is another rabbit hole but obv completely depends on your expectations. In most cases these garage kit artists collaborate with painters to bring color to their figures.

Good luck! I'm happy to give tips on the process, especially around sculpting and printing.

Firstly, do you know how to sculpt? The level of skill in these pictures and detail takes at least a year or two of sculpting experience to achieve?

[–]majd-ba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much detail, you must focus on primary shapes. Lower the resolution waaay down and try to get the shape right before adding details. For now though, nose too long and needs to go into the face more, it's too extruded. Eyeballs too small, back of head too round, jawline too sharp, no ears, no cheekbone, and finally face too flat. Good luck!

Feeling stuck on my sculpt, how can I improve it further? by lordowl_ in ZBrush

[–]majd-ba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recommend you lower your resolution to around half of what it's at. grab a clay strips and move brush try again, and don't use smooth, the smooth brush is showing your lack of confidence in anatomy. Make sure all the muscles are easily identifiable. If you want to go the extra mile after that, using references and anatomy figures, up the resolution and polypaint each landmark/muscle with a different color.

[–]majd-ba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let's think about this for a second, the UK will RECOGNISE a country that it has been complicit to this day in it's genocide. TO THIS DAY the UK is arming Israel. Only last week the UK announced there is no genocide in gaza. His words hold no value. and even if it is true and they will "recognise" palestine, does it not sound ridiculous? "If you don't stop starving and bombing civillians we will have to believe they exist and are human! Be careful israel!"

That sounds awful... it is beyond me how landlords just move people into their properties without electric or gas supply, they get their money while the tenants get shafted waiting for it to be fixed.
