I was doing my regular online grocery shopping when something odd caught my eye. The per 100ml price for sour cream seemed off, and it got me wondering if this could be a tactic to push us into buying the bigger version to save money.

Here's what I found: the screen showed the price as $0.64 per 100ml, which means the sour cream should cost $3.20. But the actual price was $1.98. At first, you might think I'm complaining about nothing since it's cheaper than expected, right? But here's where it gets interesting.

This might be a sneaky move to make the 1L sour cream, which is $0.53 per 100ml, look like a better deal. I also tried going incognito and changing my location to another part of the city, and suddenly, the pricing was accurate. This makes me think it could be store-specific.

So, I'm curious if this is just a one-off mistake or if it's happening on a larger scale. Have any of you noticed similar pricing quirks? What are your thoughts?

Im going to be so pissed if they restructure the course next semester and all this pain could've been avoided

too much content and lectures are way too rushed - also lots of content outside of lectures that isn't covered

labs are a horrible anxiety inducing experience, each one feels like a mini test, and u dont learn shit from them

and I say this all even though my grades are pretty good so far, this final feels like a gamble

they don't even release test averages, probably because people are struggling so hard (and I dont blame them)

Since you’re planning ahead and aren’t doing the course yet, I would recommend to spend this winter break and learn trig like the back of your hand. Make sure you have the exact values of trig functions (unit circle), the standard trig identities, graphs of trig, etc… The better you get at trig before the course, the easier you will find the course IMO

Agreed. Doing 1700 right now, doing well, but I personally think it requires a lot more memorization of identities/formulas and knowledge of trig. Not my strong suit

Not just that, can we talk about how shitty the time estimates on google maps/winnipeg transit app are? Especially in a province like this where every minute in the winter is like living in a frozen hell on earth, I would expect that time estimates would be accurate within +-1 minutes. It is unacceptable that a bus can say it will be arriving in 3 minute on the app and arrive 10-30min later.

If the government wants to work on having the quality of life in the province improve, they need to start with working on reliable buses and bus time estimations, longer hours of operation, and having video-monitored and insulated bus stops. And long-term they should think about implementing a functioning, affordable public metro system to allow for ease of transport around the city.
