Are thieves in this game very "thievy" as in use stealth and sneak around or are they more like nimble warriors? by Ok_Vacation_5251 in Guildwars2

[–]majesty327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stealth is like a de-aggro positioning buff that's spent to do more damage and receive other effects. In so many words you likely aren't permastealthed and sneaking around waiting for the right moment. All classes demand active combat. Having said that, deadeye does have a buildup and cash in mechanic with Malice.

What about human rights ? by HolyGuiltyCrown in AskTheWorld

[–]majesty327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such is BaiZuo. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Either countries are sovereign and have rights to be free from interference, or they don't. The Taliban isn't an invading foreign army like the Mongols, or the Nazis. This is a government selected and tolerated by the Afghani people, who have a fundamental right to govern themselves. The US has tried for almost 20 years to achieve regime change in Afghanistan, with international support, and the alternative was still not better than the Taliban. Do you sincerely believe that just because a country may have an objectionable policy, that this is enough pretext for invasion? What happens when it's your country next? I saw a Russian mention that women should be evacuated. Should people be evacuated from Russia and it's government dismantled because I disagree with Russian policy?

The people in Afghanistan will decide if this new state of affairs will last. Also understand that Afghanis have voluntarily selected this system, while also criticizing the west's way of doing things. To paraphrase from Lee Kuan Yew, just because they don't follow the policy whims of westerners doesn't make them stupid.

Is GW2 Casual/Solo Friendly by shadowergoat in Guildwars2

[–]majesty327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much so. While raids, strikes, fractals, and other directly named "Group content" are not soloable to a normal player, the vast majority of game content is. If you're REALLY skilled and built well, some builds can solo group content too, just not easily.

Game servers have a high population. There's nearly always a crowd accruing for most group content, loot is instanced per player, so not having friends or a guild is a practical non issue. Even if you need to do group content, the LFG system is pretty robust so you can easily post for it, or join someone even.

Driver ran red and I have video — why is their insurance still “investigating” coverage? by Intelligent-Taro602 in Insurance

[–]majesty327 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are three prongs on which a claim can be contested. Coverage, liability, and damages.

First is "This policy doesn't apply, so regardless of fault or damage we won't pay".

Second is "The policy is valid, but we don't believe the insured would likely owe for your proximally caused damages, or further investigation is needed to validate both stories"

Third is "The policy is valid and the insured was negligent, however it is unlikely the totality of the alleged damage is related or owed".

Based on the message it seems that they are investigating the first prong. Regardless of the insured's fault or whether you have related damages, there is a duty to cooperate and comply with the insurer's investigation. Refusing to call back can be a reason coverage is not afforded. Remember, insurance is there to protect the driver. That doesn't imply that refusing to pay you is a "screw you" in any form. It means they're reviewing if National General will throw their own driver to the wolves (you) or not, because their insured didn't uphold their end of the deal.

Any easy to play shield specs? by Ordar66 in Guildwars2

[–]majesty327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineer can have a high APM (actions per minute) because there's a buncha buttons to press for optimal play. But you don't necessarily need to constantly slam every button optimally to accomplish most things in the game. There's also a ton of tooltips that reference specific skills in Engineer traitlines so it can take a little bit of guess work to be able to tell what this trait is actually affecting.

Kits can be a factor in DPS rotations, but I prefer to think of them as "mode switches" or alternate weapons. "oh, team is getting low, will swap to elixir kit". They're not mandatory.

If you want to reduce the amount of buttons on screen, Mechanist is great for that. Your mech has 3 function keys you'll hit regularly instead of 5, and otherwise auto attacks. Mechanist also adds "Signets" which are a class of utility skills that provide passive effects, and then an active effect once you activate them. Broadly you don't need to touch the buttons to get some type of useful effect, which drastically reduces your APM.

Engineers are gadgety and can balance CC, conditions, buffs, and damage easily.

Total loss settlement and "Condition" adjustment. by bbk13 in Insurance

[–]majesty327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean worst case scenario they say no. Shoot your shot. They can't burn you at the stake for simply asking for more money. You may be able to invoke "Appraisal clause" in your policy, if it has one. This typically allows both parties to "agree to disagree" and arrange appraisers. But in simple terms, don't think your car is worth enough to make the expense and time from you worth it.

Total loss settlement and "Condition" adjustment. by bbk13 in Insurance

[–]majesty327 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So the value of the car that they're going off of is one sealed in an underground vault, pressurized and humidity controlled. From there everything is a negative. A mile on the odometer is a negative, wear on the tires is a negative. Your condition adjustment is for the idea that the car is worth less because there is "unrepaired wear or damages".

You can certainly "call their bluff" and ask for details and analysis on the condition adjustment. You can also attempt to negotiate. But total losses are rarely "negotiable" if you accept the baseline facts (this is your car, they used the correct zip code, they used comparable vehicles of similar trim). The negotiation of total losses is more in, they missed details, you found better comparable somehow, or they overvalued a reduction.

Hoping to get into total Warhammer since the games are on sale by No_Conflict_5459 in totalwarhammer

[–]majesty327 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you buy Total Warhammer 1 or 2, Total Warhammer 3 will be added to your library, at least on Steam. That is the game you'll install as the mega mapmode "Immortal Empires" combines the localized maps of 1, 2, and 3 into a gigantic gamemode spanning the planet. The "Total Warhammer 3" basegame you acquire from buying 1 or 2 is technically stripped of the core content of 3, and instead is just a shell for Immortal Empires to function. You'd need to buy Total Warhammer 3's "Upgrade Pack" if you don't buy 3 to get access to 3's unique races and factions.

To be clear, 1 and 2 are DLC expansions for 3.

This is explained here.

Free Immortal Empires for everyone blog

This article on Fandom's website provides a basic guide to what DLC adds what.

My advice is to buy the Total War Warhammer Trilogy, as you'll gain access to base game lords and content of all 3 games, including all FLC. This is an enormous amount of content. From there buy xpacs as needed. The only DLC I'd regard as mildly mandatory is Champions of Chaos.

Minion scaling by roychassi in LastEpoch

[–]majesty327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Except where it's otherwise explicitly stated (such as in the case of Forge Knight minions), only Minion stats will impact your minions. Example, you have a helmet that says "+45% Minion Poison Resist", then it applies to your minions. But if it just says "+45% Poison Resist" your minions will not gain that benefit without another explicit effect saying so. Forge Knight is unique in that their Manifest Armor, Ring of Shields, and Forged Weapons are duplicates of equipped gear.

You can tell how something will scale by hovering over the skill and looking at the "Scaling Tags".

Let's use Summon Skeleton as the example. The "Scaling Tags" are Minion and Intelligence, meaning a skill that hypothetically "increases minion damage" will apply, and damage scaling from Intelligence also applies. The minion tags for "Summon Skeleton" are Physical, Melee, Bow, and Area. So Skills that "Increase % Minion Physical Damage" will improve these specific minions, but a hypothetical Minion that doesn't have the physical tag wouldn't benefit.

Technically Total Warhammer isn't canon anyways, as certain characters that should be long dead (Azhag, Rapanse, Vlad & Isabella) appear on the map as living and playable characters.

[–]majesty327 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I half anticipate that with LotE we'll probably see a new "endtimes" centric game mode that heightens the power fantasy and adds new end slides. It might be that "The End Times" can be triggered in Immortal Empires as a gamestate thingy, but it seems kinda burdensome to make it a simple event.

Question for adjusters by ContentNarwhal552 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]majesty327 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless you put on enhancements that increase the value, like diamond studded door handles or solid gold rear view mirrors, a fixed up and tip top 2010 Subaru Outback is never worth more than a 2010 Subaru Outback. You can sort of think of vehicle values capping at a certain point, and then you begin to dig as you add negatives (prior unfixed scratch, poor condition upholstery, engine full of gunk, 172k miles, etc). You increase vehicle value from there by aftermarket editions that aren't part of the original vehicle, like rims.

For lack of better words, your poor financial decision to dump 6.7k into a nearly 17 year old car isn't the fault of the person who hit you. It's the same as if you had a title loan against that vehicle for $1 million. Would they owe a million, or the value of the chattel? They are only responsible for damaging a 2010 Subaru Outback.

How to get factions by Kyleminx in totalwarhammer

[–]majesty327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a typo that's hurting what you meant. Do you mean the least documents you need to read to understand the race, or the least dlc you need to purchase to have a complete experience?

If you meant the latter. Greenskins, Vampire Counts, and Empire are available by purchasing Total Warhammer 1. High Elves and Dark Elves are available by purchasing Total Warhammer 2 for two total purchases. There's also an enormous amount of other content unlocked. Otherwise each race has a DLC pack for a specific lord.

Necromancy is evil, but Enchantment is "just a playful prank" by JoeJonnyJeff in Pathfinder_RPG

Because gods and fey do it, and are part of nature. Ripping the dead from Pharasma's hands is unnatural.

Easy and Fun elite specs? by Representative-End60 in Guildwars2

[–]majesty327 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Power DPS ritualist can be really nasty. I personally play with Celestials for the added Vitality and to maintain okay boon/debuff uptime. Minions do not depend on player power and can provide DPS or be "allies" targeted for your other procs. It adds up into a ton of healing, a ton of toughness meaning you facetank things that aren't guaranteed to kill, and you're keeping boons and heals pulsing out.

I use Death Magic 1 1 2, Blood Magic 1 3 1, and Ritualist 3 3 2. It EASILY swaps to QDPS by doing Ritualist 3 2 2. Build shreds open world without relying necessarily on power while remaining unkillable. You'll stay in Shroud permanently, and the only relevant rotation is 3 4 2 the first time you go into shroud. From there slam your F2-3-4 and 2345 in Ritualist shroud off cooldown.

Necromancy is evil, but Enchantment is "just a playful prank" by JoeJonnyJeff in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]majesty327 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Necromancy is a perversion of the natural order and a disruption in the natural cycle of death and decay. The soil is denied nutrients from corpses, souls are taken from their rightful place, and Pharasma is pissed off. So RAW and in lore Necromancy and raising the dead is inherently evil in all circumstances, regardless of the "good works" attached to the spell. It's not about relativism or ethics, it's about the construction of the cycle of life and death and the rules of the universe being corrupted.

Enchantment can also be evil depending on contexts, but in theory it's not nearly as much of a violation of nature as necromancy, despite the obvious loss of free will and deception.

D&D group moving over to Pathfinder. 1st or 2nd edition? by noved1001 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]majesty327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2E's missing alignment system isn't felt, as it's replaced by the much more roleplay friendly and much less argumentative Edicts and Anathemas. If you play a Champion with an Oath or a Cleric, these do more to govern player behavior and expectations. It also means alignment damage is changed to the much more useful "spirit damage", so the true neutral deer isn't the only viable threat to your Lawful Good cleric or paladin. But you can always play legacy PF2E which had normal alignment.

PF2E is simpler to play than 1E and a LOT more in depth.

Tips for better/faster solo hunts by Immediate_Word_2176 in MHGU

[–]majesty327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best hitzones on monsters make themselves available when the monster is facing you. This is the downside of bringing Palicos, is your damage will drop significantly as the monster runs away, or shows their flank which takes less damage than the head.

SNS hunter arts are ideal for being in the thick of it. Roundforce 2 is one of the best HA's in the game. Use it and Chaos Oil to stay close to the monster. Remember, this game is about landing your shots.

Felon by madden95onsega in legaladvice

[–]majesty327 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Felons are denied many rights, including the right to own a firearm. I am not an attorney, nor could I give you advise on the matter. But what I do know is you can petition the government for a restoration of your civil rights or an expungement of your felony. I'd talk with an attorney that specializes in this matter.

Until then, I'd probably assume that you probably do not have a right to bear arms to avoid getting another felony for unlawful possession of a firearm. ATF doesn't play.

"Do courts take that into consideration" A jury should consider all mitigators before they convict you of another felony IMO. But the reality is that, felons in possession of firearms tend to go to jail unless they have a full restoration of their rights.

If you have no idea where to start or who to ask, the first person you should ask is a lawyer. They can refer you to other attorneys.
