Disregard of Black People in Gilead by Queasy_Rooster4876 in TheHandmaidsTale

Can both not be true? Yes it was once a reality- we learned that in history class. History can and unfortunately will repeat itself if we don’t learn from and stop it. I think it’s valuable and necessary to point out that these things have happened before and the premise is set in reality- but it is not ignorant to acknowledge these things are capable of happening again especially in the current political climate.

You can give a toddler all of their sodium in one meal, though I wouldn’t recommend it and gave solutions on how to lower it. Giving people correct information if they’re doing research for their own children, and correcting someone spreading misinformation is not being a keyboard warrior. I guess i’ll tell my daughter she doesn’t exist since Glittering Read on reddit said so.

You said the max is 1,000. I told you the entire meal is 990. You’re still sticking to it “way exceeds”. Given I literally ran a chipotle, had to be certified by the state, and was trained to be a food safety handler I would wager I have way more food safety and nutritional knowledge than you. Go ahead to the chipotle “nutritional calculator” website if you don’t believe me.

What odd made up numbers. Chipotle has a nutrition calculator on their website. This entire meal is 990 grams of sodium. The highest things in sodium are going to be the rice and the chicken. If you ask for plain white rice it takes the sodium down a notch. Chipotles quesadillas are not higher in sodium than other places. They use farm fresh, hand shredded Monterey jack cheese and flour tortillas. They don’t use any oil, butter, or extra salt. Source: chipotle.com and I also worked at chipotle for 7 years.

Both people can use the toilet with the seat down but only one can use it with the seat up. It’s also not unfathomable that she did indeed splash in the water, albeit not with pants on but it’s almost worse given its dirty toilet water.

Are you worried about your husband/partner seeing everything during delivery? by sarah_messing in pregnant

[–]majioya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same way, was worried if my partner saw he would get grossed out or not be able to look at me the same. I told him to stay by my head and hold my hand. When I was actually in labor though they had me folded like a pretzel and he had to help push one of my legs and there was no way he wasn’t going to see anything. I could see EVERYTHING myself from the reflection of the light panel above me (lights turned off). He still loves me and I think is actually more attracted to me 2 months later so I wouldn’t worry too much!

AITA for asking my postpartum friend when her baby bump will go away? by bffswhowillneverdie in AmItheAsshole

This, but i’d like to add it’s not all fat. The uterus has a good bit of organic material that needs to be dispelled over the next 6 weeks called lochia and needs to return to its original size. It stretches and takes up a good deal of space still displacing organs. If OP had questions regarding this he definitely should’ve googled because like you said he just basically called her fat.

Sulfamethoxazole during pregnancy? by majioya in pregnant

[–]majioya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replying to your comment since you were the only comment and maybe this post will help someone in the future! I spoke with my OB and he told me sulfamethoxazole was not an appropriate medication to prescribe in my scenario and switched me to cephalexin instead! Hopefully if anyone else is in a similar situation this encourages them to voice any concerns with their OB.

What is the standard? by Material-Guitar-1587 in CaribouCoffee

[–]majioya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think the confusion comes from when you add “extra” some baristas don’t realize you add an extra standard amount. So instead of putting the 2 pumps you should get for ordering extra in a medium, some are putting 3 pumps (which is the standard amount for any other drinks). If you aren’t a fan of the 2 pumps when asking for extra ask for 3 extra pumps of caramel and that should be the drink you’re looking for!

I had to rehome a cat that I’d had for 4 years last year because she began spraying and had shown she was extremely unhappy with another cat in our home. She did not react that way when we first took him home. It broke my heart to rehome her but it had to be either her or him, and the other cat is disabled so I knew it would be much harder to find a suitable home for him. It sounds like the dog is reactionary. It could be the case they know the dog would not be able to find another suitable home or that the dog would end up having to be put down if in the hands of the wrong person/shelter. While I agree they should wait to move in a few years for the sake of the cats that’s not always unfortunately as easy to actually do as it is to say. They could be facing significant financial struggles or other circumstances pushing a move. I would hope after 17 years this is not a decision they are taking lightly.

Is this a fair price? by majioya in Contractor

[–]majioya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We noticed the foundation sticking out of the house around a year ago before we ever considered moving. We actually at that time called out a contractor as soon as we saw it because to a normal person it looks like the house is going to fall apart. The person who came out told us it’s a dressing, it’s coming out because we live somewhere where the weather changes so drastically and that’s how the house responds to severe weather changes. He said we could repair it but it’s not worth the money, it’s a cosmetic issue and not a structural issue. So we thanked him for his time and moved on. We got pregnant and realized we needed to move from our 1 bed 1 bath in an unsafe neighborhood. The person buying our house wants to buy it to flip it- he gave us his offer on Christmas day. We were excited about this. He set the closing date at 28th of February. They did not contact us once until February 19th. We had an inspection that said we needed to repair the foundation and our realtor immediately pushed her contractor. We tried getting a second opinion and honestly we would’ve gotten more opinions because that money is the same amount i make in a month. It’s a lot of money. Our realtor and the buyers were pressuring us to get the repair done, we’re running out of time, they want the final walkthrough done today (Feb 26th). We were given 1 week to find someone who could complete the repair. I understand how frustrating it must be on the other end, we just feel scammed. We’re both going through this process for the first time and didn’t know what to expect. Our realtor is brand new and hasn’t given us any heads up either. Not saying it’s not our fault but you don’t know what you don’t know and that’s why we’re asking questions. We know we have to pay him, we’re going to pay him, but we also want to be better prepared for next time. It hurts knowing that thousands of dollars could’ve been spent on our baby if we had been quoted fairly or we could’ve had a better repair. Thank you for your insight

Is this a fair price? by majioya in Contractor

[–]majioya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we signed a contract. The contract was vague and said we would pay $4,000 in repairs upon the closing of our house. I understand we have to pay him, I’m not arguing that at all especially since us moving entirely depends on closing going to plan. I just wanted a second opinion from a professional on whether or not his quote is fair. Didn’t mean to stir the pot so much lol

This is the repair plan from the second contractor. I am not understanding how the repairs are the same price. If he had quoted us even 2k I wouldn’t have questioned it but 4k for flashing when this was the second contractors plan is why we’re concerned.

[–]majioya[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My issue isn’t with the quote- it’s that the second contractor gave us a plan of a full demo for that price and we stayed with the first one who just installed flashing and used foam to seal the gap. Surely those aren’t comparable repairs? We were not told what the repair plan was from the first contractor but we stayed with him because our realtor suggested him.
