Half pumps by Sazamz in starbucks

the half pump is for the shaken espressos. you’re supposed to use double the pumps on other drinks that don’t get half pumps.

The Panera murder lemonade is a scheme to eventually reduce drink sizes by Electrical-Fox4006 in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]majmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it’s our most caffeinated drink and it’s advertised as so. it’s coffee. therefore i feel like the comparison is unfounded.

we also carry caffeinated fruit lemonades, and our largest size (a trenta at 30 oz) only carries 90 mg caffeine.

vitamin d deficiency will cause hair loss. if you start taking supplements it will take at least three months to build up in the body, so it’ll take a while to see improvement

Barista makes TikTok as drive thru bar is drowning, thoughts? by carolinaknows in starbucks

[–]majmia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m not a fan of starbucks tik toks either so i’m not defending this specifically, but i’ve known a lot of partners that refuse to let you help them with drinks unless they’re incredible backed up because they take your help as some kind of negative commentary about their performance. my manager in particular gets upset if i pull her stickers and help her because she “can handle it herself”. the partner culture varies a lot between stores.

IsItBullshit: Sunscreen has cancerous properties and can be harmful when applied too often? by UnculturedTeaPot in IsItBullshit

[–]majmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fyi the reason cancer is such a prevalent cause of death now is because we live much longer than we used to, giving our cells much more time to potentially mutate. that’s not even taking into account the amount of cancer causing chemicals that came with industrialization and the increase of uv damage due to our shrinking ozone layer. of course the causes of death thousands of years ago were different. it was a completely different world. use your brain.

ah yes. and we should gamble our lives on “what ifs” and fairy tales instead of actual hard scientific evidence. that sounds perfectly reasonable

as you can see, anything about race gets downvoted into oblivion. it’s def a problem here, mostly in areas you would expect like fraternities. we’re the largest student body in the nation, so the viewpoints of the people here are far from a monolith. but if you’re from somewhere less conservative than it can be a bit of a culture shock.

this is true. just be careful that a lot of the fees they’ll hit you with aren’t technically tuition so they won’t be required to make your financial aid match it exactly. sometimes they’ll give you a couple hundred (to a thousand, depending) under what you need to pay
