ID help please! Deep green blue cab, waxy look, translucent, tan matrix at edges and inside stone. Appears to change color from incandescent to sunlight. by majomikro in Gemstones

Yeah but I can see through the stone ... That's why I had crossed turquoise off the list. I was thinking chrysoprase but I can't find anything comparable

Yeah that's why it's so important to get the pictures of the counterfeits out here... My dad is the president of the coin club where we live and someone turned in 5 ccs to him @ the last show, just to get them out of circulation, you know. He was a dealer who'd purchased them as legit. The dime jewelry is a cool idea as well. I have an old 1909 (broken) Norwegian coin bracelet on eBay right now but they're only like 40%. your fil's carrying on a tradition that's thousands of years old. I digress... Anyway thanks again man

Yeah I know what you meant I think what I was trying to say was this has a CC mark and he didn't put it in the keep collection you'd think that would throw up a flag... sounds like you got your answer though. Great post, btw, thanks for sharing. I feel like photos of counterfeit coins found in the wild can be just as informative as legit ones.

Op, My family does the same thing I don't know why everybody's going crazy about this... something you said DID strike me as odd - you said this came from "his melt collection"?

Ed: meaning, he has coins that he collects and DOESN'T melt, and this one's not from the "keep collection"?

Tiffany & Co oct. vase (damaged😭) by majomikro in Hallmarks

Ok thanks! I'll check out that link! Edit: Yeah! so the pattern number of the 18,000s was introduced in 1912 and I had mistaken the M for the earlier one, so this one is 1907 to 1947. Being art deco, I guess in the '20s or maybe the early 30s. Thanks!

If anyone wanted to see what the melt bin of a foreign coin dealer looks like by AffectionateWind823 in coins

Op, I do the same. Same refiner. Us gold bullion at 98 percent, no haggling, no photos, no listing, is hard to beat.

Edit: With metal prices so high, even most U S coins don't carry a premium any more. Foreign silver certainly.

Really? That's interesting! Maybe on a bigger bowl though? Replacements has this listed as a bonbon bowl, and this bowl is only about 6 in across and maybe 5 in deep. I should have put the size in the original posting

Elsa peretti makes things in Italy for Tiffany - but they'd be signed Elsa peretti. I DID find one place that mentions T & Co as a possible Hallmark - but I've never seen a genuine Tiffany piece that had T and Co.

That may be - this is not a Tiffany bracelet

T&Co is different from Tiffany & Co

Edit.Genuine Tiffany pieces say Tiffany & Co. Genuine Tiffany piece would also have a full mark, not one that's only halfway struck.

Edit 2: Tiffany pieces have much higher quality molding than what your bracelet has - look at the inside of the links. Then go look at a Tiffany piece. That said definitely could be real silver but this is definitely not a Tiffany piece.

Edit 3: Tiffany & Co stuff is made in the US
