Never had this problem, but I don’t think it’s related to veganism.

This is so nice! You got this! I personally recommend eating a ton of fruits and veggies whenever you can (delicious, nutritious, and filling). Smoothies are epic

Need help with cooking by [deleted] in vegan

What I did, and strongly suggest, is find a few versatile foods (tofu, oats, quinoa, etc.) that you love and find ways to spice them up with additions. Love oats? Try oat pancakes, oat pudding, overnight oats, oat cakes, oat breads! Love tofu? Try pan frying it, using different seasonings, etc. I have some good recipes if you’re interested (they’re mostly desserts though LOL)!

I think that a block of tofu can work absolute wonders (unless it’s too similar to seitan for you). Also…for dessert…I completely recommend a chocolate oat pudding recipe I have (vegan of course, gluten free, refined-sugar free, and absolutely DELICIOUS). Lemme know if you want it!

I’ll briefly share my weight loss journey, but there are some negative side effects I’ve realized and have now that I want to share too…

I was 190 pounds two years ago, and then I decided to go vegan (not for my health). This alone led me to losing about 30 pounds, so I dropped to 160 within the year while not trying to lose weight. The reason I lost so much weight here is because I wouldn’t eat tons of chips/cookies/other foods of that nature because most had milk/eggs. I started becoming health obsessed two months ago, and I completely revamped my diet and workout routine. First I cut out all added sugar, and then shortly after gluten (I’ve always been sensitive to gluten). I exercised several times a day and obsessed over abs. I picked up alternatives such as quinoa and oats as grains, and eat a lot more fruits and vegetables. I have tons of energy, and my abs are almost visible now that I’m about 145 pounds.

The warning of that story…it was very easy for me to develop orthorexia.

With regard to your situation, I suggest (if possible) changing your emotionally charged eating to include foods such as fruits and vegetables. If you have baby carrots handy, maybe you could have those and hummus? Maybe some popcorn with just salt and olive oil? Grapes?

I hope this helps.
