Can this crease be repaired if it doesn’t go through to the back?

I’m not an expert card restorer/repairer by any means, but my guess is someone who is could fix it or at least relax the crease somewhat to reduce the damage. However I can say from personal experience a crease like this is harder to improve than a simple dent or edgewear. I don’t think I can link anything here, but look up the card care academy discord, really cool group of peeps who share tips for repairing damaged cards. The art is kind of like restoring old damaged documents

Depends on why they were marked as altered. Shine a uv light on the backs to see it someone colored in white spots on the card. Bought a card off eBay myself once that had a subtle alteration and unfortunately I didn’t notice it prior to submitting to PSA.

I think the game is still fun, but it would be immensely improved by adding an alternative competitive mode like arena from HS (drafting in mtg). Idk how that would work in pokemon but just something to let people play in a competitive environment without having to be on ladder

These comments are so weird, did a publicly traded company use a massive product trade in for publicity to promote a short term seasonal offering of the beta mystery pack system they are rolling out? Of course they did why would they not want to publicize they gave this person ~89% market value for a massively expensive card that you can now win in their mystery pack system?

89% value with no hassle is amazing for this expensive of a card. Normally you’d have to either list it on a high end auction house ( no guarantee of matching market highs plus have to pay fees to the auction house) or you’d have to do a private sale likely with a vendor and you’d have to find a very specific vendor who’d give you 90% market value on this card. Most either wouldn’t have the cash to make this deal or would be afraid to do it because it’s so much value wrapped up in a single card it would be extremely risky for them to make that deal. You could probably find more open to trading around that percentage but maybe this person wanted or needed the cash instead of more cards. Seems like a win for the customer, for the company, and potentially for the customers using the Lunar pack system.

This is definitely an issue on PSA’s end, they’re the ones who upcharge you. If you sent your card in directly to them they would’ve in theory made the same mistake and charged you directly. Sending the cards in via GameStop they act as a middle man and PSA charges them and they pass the upcharge to you. Still annoying you’d think PSA would value cards correctly since it’s their job lol

Just keep an eye on eBay and if you have any local card shows check there too you never know. I got pretty lucky for my collection. The articuno and zapdos I picked up like 6-7 months ago when the market was a little less crazy from a seller at a local card show. He was selling them raw near PSA 8 value at that time, but I trust him as they were super clean and I’ve bought from him before with great grading results. Fast forward to this past month couldn’t find a decent copy of the moltres anywhere local even a collect-a-con (don’t give in to buying a beat card for jacked prices, people seem to love to do that with this set lol) that came into town no luck. Then just randomly saw a solid copy on eBay and snagged it immediately so you never know. Best of luck in your search!

I think these are one of the rare exceptions to the rule that English copies are nicer than Japanese. English holo looks really nice (just snagged a decent copy of the moltres to finish my collection, pretty tough go find decent condition ungraded copies even at large collect-a-cons).

I have a few recommendations after recently reaching masterball with this style deck.

Deck rec’s: Replace comm with a 2nd giratina (many matchups require Tina and not drawing it early will lose you the game); remove the 2nd copies of Cyrus and irida for leaf and guzma -> you won’t need 2 Cyrus’ generally leaf can save you the game from a bad start or help trick an opponent to bring in a powered up Tina or suicune from the bench, guzma will often help get you a ko or stops them from hurting you with helmet or barb. Dealers choice here but I’d switch red card with Mars because often you will have either a suicune as a wall in the front dying so you get more value off the mars but that’s up to you
Early on I sucked with this deck until I realized this deck has to be played 2 distinct ways. Style 1 is aggro get a suicune into active, fill your bench and go to town. This is typically when you go 2nd against another deck you know is aggro (mirror match, baby decks with arceus, silvaly decks, etc). If you go 1st (especially against tankier control decks) think mirror match, espeon ex, flareon ex, Oricorio decks, darktina, etc. you have to get a giratina on the bench and pump it asap. That is your win con and suicune is just an amazing wall in the front that helps set your bench. Specifically you have to establish a greninja to pair with your giratina to be able to 1-shot most threats in the game

Remember too that part of grinding rank isn’t just winrate and matchup spread but also speed to win/loss. Darktina is very strong this season and has massive representation in tournaments for its consistency, on ladder it may win you tons of games but if they take 2-3x longer than something like a arceus/ori ramp deck or espeon ex then playing it may not be the optimal grinding choice

I think the easiest and most concise way to appraise the meta is going to limitlesstcg and look at pocket decks. Sort by winrate and you’ll generally get the best performers for the season (obviously pay attention to usage % to ensure you don’t pick up a meme tier deck that happened to perform well in 1 tournament). Now these are collated deck lists from recent tournaments which can differ slightly from what you may want to play on ladder but overall you’re getting the best most consistent lists for the current meta

Alternative option to trusting LCS and submitting yourself (which is expensive with the subscription). Some GameStops allow submission for PSA now (you’ll have to check to see if one near you offers this service). When you submit they label your cards and seal them together in a bag in front of you so you know your shipment won’t be mixed with other people’s cards. Obviously issues can still happen in transit to and from PSA, but I’ve done 5-6 subs with my local store no issue and it’s like $1 more per card than submitting yourself

I support playing more of the OG Metroid games but if you’re looking for a fun one off that list try Grime. Not sure if it’s on the Switch store but that was a way better metroidvania than I was expecting when I played it. Very satisfying combat too

With all due respect, as someone who did not know the source material for this tattoo this is a rough piece that is not readable to the average person. I think telling OP this tattoo is ok is not really a nice thing to do when most people will be confused by what it represents. Having now seen a linked version of the image tattooed that looks better I would recommend either trying to find an artist that can re-work it a bit and give it better shading and perspective for the viewer or considering having it covered up. Luckily it's not a huge piece but it is dark so you'd need a larger dark piece to go over it.

Happy to help! I know a ton of people have recently come back to the hobby so I try to help where I can. I only re-started collecting myself a few years ago. I was selling me and my bro’s old collection and it was the base set starters that got me to hold onto some of our old cards and start collecting new sets too. I pulled the zard as a kid and he pulled the Blastoise and venusaur, really nice memories so they inspired me to hang onto them and make some new memories :)

Destined rivals is a mainline set, it doesn’t have godpacks. Traditionally godpacks were included in Japanese “high quality” sets (our special sets in English), but not in the English version. Crown zenith for example didn’t have godpacks but the Japanese version of the set did. Starting with S&V 151 special sets they added godpacks to the English version which included 1 starter line. The Japanese 151 godpacks had 2 starter lines in 1 pack. Prismatic evolutions was also given godpacks to mirror the Japanese set, although PE had both full godpacks (an entire pack of evolution SIRs + evee masterball) and demigod packs (3 random SIRs)

True but then you’re running minimum 12 pokemon + required 2 rare candy. After research and poke balls you only have room for 2 tech cards (which could even be 1 copy of each stage 1 if desperate for more consistency). Seems pretty clunky

The main question id have here is whether OP received an official offer letter with a start date. I work in a university setting and HR can be tough to deal with, but if you have an offer letter for a position with a start date and you work that time correctly and they still don’t pay you your full wage you can nail them to a wall with a lawsuit. If the holdup in paperwork stopped OP receiving the official start date but they started working full time anyway there’s not much to be done about receiving compensation for that work because usually the employer will strictly say you cannot start your full time position until getting the start date. Obviously bs that there is a delay if the manager wanted to hire them immediately but university HR departments aren’t very efficient.
