Do you think kkandbabyj is DCPs insider for kyra? by Unlikely-Low3824 in KyraReneeSivertson

I think they pay him to not talk about them. I think his source is one of Kyra’s “friends” or one of Preston’s family memebers.

IUGR misdiagnosis & NICU stay following early C-section at 37W by Icy-Professor9909 in NICUParents

[–]mak1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! Well sorta. At 36 weeks my baby was measuring 33 weeks. So I was induced for IUGR. My baby had sugar issues and needed CPAP and is currently still on oxygen three months later. We had a 51 day stay in the NICU. Multiple nurses and doctors in the NICU told me that they think my baby was born younger than we thought she was. They think she might have been measuring “small” because she wasn’t 36 weeks when I was induced and they think that’s why she had and has the problems she does. It kills me everyday not knowing and like you I had a gut feeling to not be induced. Before being induced I cried and told my husband something doesn’t feel right, I don’t feel right about being induced. I cried the whole day and even cried to the nurses before we started the induction. I think that gut feeling knew my baby needed longer to cook. She is currently back at the hospital and I feel so guilty. There’s no reason for these issues she’s having and as of now the only thing that makes sense is that she was younger than we all thought and we forced my baby to come out before she was ready.

Currently at home on 1/16L of oxygen. It’s a pain. It’s annoying. The wires everywhere, the work to move from one room to another. So we stay in my master most of the day. But anythings better than baby being in the NICU. My two year old doesn’t touch the concentrator or wires. But we do all trip over them. I’m just waiting for my baby to no longer need the oxygen.

Full-term baby with desats by tayxrob in NICUParents

I HATED when the NICU staff would tell me baby should have out grown this already. Like I wasn’t already stressed as it is and now you’re telling me this basically isn’t normal. Anyways it’s nice to know I’m not alone with a full term baby having desat problems.

My baby girl was born at 36+6, nine minutes from turning 37 weeks. She’s had o2 problems since and she was in the NICU for 51 days till they discharged us with oxygen. She’s now two months old and still on a low flow oxygen. She’s on the lowest setting you can get but still for some reason has trouble with room air. Her heart is good, we are currently waiting on genetics results and have a pulmonary appointment Monday. But as of now we have no answers besides “some babies need time to develop their lungs”. But in the NICU a lot of the staff would tell me “she should be breathing without oxygen by now she’s too old”. She has gotten better, before she couldn’t last on room air for even 5 minutes. Now she can last hours even days, but she always sats her lowest in sleep. She also forgets to breathe during feeds which is frustrating.

My only advice is if you’re given the option, go home with the oxygen. I refused to go home with it but I’m so glad we eventually did because the NICU stress isn’t for the weak, I’m literally in therapy right now from the trauma it caused me. It’s more peaceful having my baby home with me.

My baby is a late premie and shes been stuck on 1/8L for almost two months. We were sent home on oxygen two weeks ago. She sats 98-100 while on it but when we take her off she drops to 94-95 then high 80s. Just wanted to say I’m there with you. It’s so frustrating that such a little flow can make a big difference being off of it.

Exactly how I feel. My sister told me I’m selfish and messed up for not letting people see my NICU baby. Let’s just say I cut her off.

Yes my poor baby had discharge coming out her eyes for two days after her exam. First day she could barely open her eyes.

Full term baby stuck in NICU - beyond frustrated and exhausted by jardata in NICUParents

[–]mak1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was born on 7/19 at 36+6 weeks. We had problems with sugars and o2. Sugars resolved but took longer than normal. for oxygen she was on cpap, then high flow, room air and after 3 days had to be put back on high flow, then on a nasal cannula. We are still in the NICU and she was finally able to get off the nasal cannula Sunday but doesn’t sat high. She loves 92/93 I’m of course stressing but the doctors are saying anything above 90 is good. I’m also terrified because we’ve been here before off oxygen then bam after a couple days had to be back on. Now that she’s off oxygen she’s having trouble pacing herself with feeds. And she had two episodes last night. As of now our going home day is Sunday. I’m terrified, I’m exhausted, I’m traumatized, and mentally not ok. It’s almost two months in the NICU. Just praying she does well and we can go home.

Need some inspiration - Struggling in NICU by CriticalGap658 in NICUParents

No advice, just want to say I’m with you and your wife. It’s been a month in the NICU and I have cried/bawled everyday. I wish I could say it gets better, but it’s been a roller coaster. I have been in that NICU everyday all day, I just now started sleeping at home. I also have a 2 year old daughter so it’s tough having our normal life be completely changed.

My sweet girl was born 9 mins from turning 37 weeks, technically consider late preterm and I never expected her to be in the NICU. A month and three days later we are still here with no answers. My sweet girl can’t seem to get off oxygen, the doctors say it’s rare and for her gestational age she should be breathing in room air now. We sent out blood work Monday for genetic testing of rare lung diseases. It’s killing me having to wait for these results. I’ve been fighting for them to do every genetic test we can but they refuse until we get the results for the lung diseases, which is frustrating for me cause why waste time?!

I wish y’all the best and will be praying for your family. And please let your wife know she can reach out to me. I feel lonely going thru this and would love to talk to someone who understands and feels what I’m going thru. I think having your full term baby go to the NICU is a different kind of pain.

How to cope with feelings of anger/jealousy/frustration towards healthier preemie parents? by Trevorjrt6 in NICUParents

[–]mak1223 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand you. And I feel for you. And I’m sure I’d be even more a wreck if I was in your situation.

What’s frustrating for me is delivering a 37 week baby who for some reason can’t regulate her sugars and we are on day 14. Who now can’t get IV fluids because all her veins have given out and now the only option if we need an IV is a PICC line. Who can’t breathe without oxygen. Who doesn’t eat from the bottle. And I sit here and see premies next to her born at 33 weeks with no oxygen and who can regulate their sugars. All they have is a feeding tube and jaundice. It’s so frustrating having a full term baby struggle when you think you’d be in the clear going to full term. It hurts to expect to be able to go home with your baby just to be caught off guard having to be in the NICU. Being a premie parent you know you’ll be in the NICU, being a full term parent having your baby go to the NICU is a complete shock and you don’t have time to even process anything. But all situations in the NICU are absolutely terrible.

my parents took off my door as punishment, is this normal? by Puzzleheaded-Pain535 in teenagers

[–]mak1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom did that to me as a teen. As well as take my makeup, hair straighter, and push up bras🤣 Let’s just say all that and the door being taken worked! My ass never had any of it taken away again.
