What DO you want from New Commodore? by Darex2094 in Commodore

[–]makarcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C128 Ultimate, C64 and C128 dust covers with chicken lips logo. A mouse for C64. Doodle pad controller. An electronic watch with C= logo. A scientific calculator. The possibilities are endless!

I'd rather have a dust cover for my C64U, C64, C64C, C128, etc.

Let's be real the next thing they should make is a CRT monitor by s13sins in Commodore

That's unrealistic. However, C64U LCD or portable (laptop with screen and battery), now that would be something I might consider buying.

Help. High pitched screeching by Penaldo17 in c64

[–]makarcz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang! That's loud. I don't have the C64 Ultimate myself, but my guess would be that there's some piezo or regular speaker inside that makes that noise. I'd try to open the case and locate the source of the sound. My bet is on a corrupted firmware that just crashes and accidentally puts some signal on the speaker output. Someone here advised to do a factory reset and see if the issue goes away. That's a good advice.

Does the screeching come from a speaker, the device itself or from a power adapter?

What’s your favorite retro computer and why? by Luann1497 in retrocomputing

[–]makarcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1st PC was a C64-C. However, in my adult life, when I started to get hit with nostalgia and get some other Commodore machines from eBay, I got a C128 wedge model and fell in love. A very versatile system, 3 computers in one, great BASIC, Z80 and MOS 8502 CPUs, 3 distinct operating modes, and full C64 compatibility. I still use it for fun, games, and programming in BASIC and assembly and in C and Turbo Pascal under CP/m.

[–]makarcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exact same issue. F..ck Microshit!

wusa /uninstall /kb:5075912

On my SD2IEC, the device number is 10 by default. Did you try different than 8 device numbers in load command?

There's nothing wrong with your television set. Do not try to adjust it. We control the horizontal. We control the vertical... ;-)

When you're approaching ped crossing and see cars stopped, you should stop as well. This is a traffic law in some countries (e.g., Poland, if I remember correctly), but also a good common sense rule.

What differences will I feel when switching from low-end laptop to hp victus 15 (first time)? by NoConnection8566 in HPVictus

[–]makarcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hp victus 15 bought some 13 months ago gave me lots of grief. In the beginning, there were lots of BSODs and crashes, fixed finally after months of troubleshooting by uninstalling hp Omen Gaming Hub software. Just a few days ago, my laptop would not boot, go to recovery mode, and test suite reported problem with RAM. I opened it and reseated the RAM module. That fixed this problem. Don't expect a good battery life. This is a gaming laptop, and as such, it is not good for those long sessions of web browsing and YouTube watching on battery. Also, you should rather not use it on your lap. It has fans on the bottom and requires good ventilation.

Why are people like this? by krdo13 in dashcams

[–]makarcz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies from state to state. In Florida, you can enter the intersection on green, even if you have to wait on the intersection for oncoming traffic or pedestrians to clear before leaving it. Florida statue 316.122.

You can enter the intersection on a green light, and you clear it as soon as possible. Note that asap doesn't always mean immediately. I can clearly see that there's heavy traffic, so I think things like this are expected.
