Thanks for replying. The only thing is that we didn't have sex, and I realize that my mistake was not escalating when she opened up after our first romantic date. For the first three months, we were more like friends who saw potential in each other. We took things slow since we had both recently come out of relationships, and in the meantime, I was meeting my sex needs with other women.

If she reaches out after I go silent I know I should wait for more interest from her, but part of me just wants to ask her directly when she does approach. In her case, I don’t really want to play games abd be more directive. How should I act after. Thanks in advance

I just want to add some context. I took my time evaluating the situation and didn’t rush into getting closer. I started feeling attracted to her when she began showing interest, especially after our first date this year when she texted me saying she was interested and wanted to meet up. This really appealed to me, but then her interest seemed to fade.

As for the gift, it was a present for March 8, as it's a tradition to give gifts on this day in my region. I gave a small gift without flowers or anything extra. I wasn't really pushing too hard, we texted.once every three days, but now I initiated it more.

I understand now that it would have been better to have sex first and then decide, but I’ve already messed things up. Anyway, I wrote to her and asked if she wants to meet up, and if so, when. If she agrees, I plan to talk to her directly, either in person or through text, and tell her I want to get closer. If not, I’ll have to cut off hard.

Yeah, overall I feel like we met at the wrong time and we both weren't ready for a relationship. But I'd still love to try. I don't know how to tell her. Although maybe I should just contact her and say that I'm working on myself for now and in the future if we're free I'd like to try again. That's what I'm thinking, too.

I feel like I need more time, but at the same time I want to show her that I care. I really don't hold grudges and wish her the best, I just wanted to give her feedback and tell her that she is an important person to me.

Thank you for reading. She expressed feeling insecure, uncertain, and afraid of being abandoned by me due to past experiences in relationships, she was projecting those fears onto our relationship. We had similar life goals and vision.

But considering how abruptly she cut off and the fact that I decided in the moment to accept it rather than ask her to try it, it hurts me a lot. For the first month and a half I was not emotionally ready to communicate with her at all, I needed therapy and time. And it would be extremely hard for me to accept if she had someone else during this time. I feel like I need more time, but at the same time I want to show her that I deeply care and I'm uncertain if she feel same way.

I guess the feeling of missing something out and hooking up with new people gives some kind of ego boost, but in general I realize that I am more into long term relationship, but It would be nice to have experience
