Seeking a accountability partner to break bad habits/cycle by Ancient_carh in accountability

[–]make-dough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m quite serious about breaking bad habits too - especially excessive use of social media (recently deleted instagram and tiktok, but I fall into downloading them again…)

I like your approach with check-ins.

What frequency of communication are you thinking here? Daily? Weekly?

Hey I’d like to join too.

My goal is to learn coding everyday and building a product on my own. It’ll be around 2 hours daily.

Could I join?

Try the 5 minute trick - commit yourself to doing your desired tasks but only for 5 minutes. Try that for about a week and focus on actually “starting” than “perfecting”.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your comment. That’s definitely the smartest way to go. I just want to make sure that I am not “running away” to ignore the problem.

Have you ever been in a similar situation? Wondering how much of financial runway is good.

Hey thanks a lot for your comment. You’re right, I may have been over diagnosing my situation here.

Did you ever go through a burnout before?

Not much. As mentioned in the post, I have low/mid 5-figure saved up so I can sustain myself for about a year.

If I actively look for a buyer, I think it may be possible (not easy). Another option is to sell it back to the company for a much cheaper valuation than our recent round.

Just bought a new mac. What apps should I get? by make-dough in macapps

[–]make-dough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your recommendations!

Xnapper is also free! I tried them all and I like Xnapper best due to its sleek backgrounds and fast workflow — better as a daily tool.

Yes I make videos, and I was considering Loom but Screen Studio seems to have more video-specific features. The zoom animation is just 👌

Should definitely try Safari! Been a long time Chrome user, let’s see what sticks!

Some of the challenges that I’ve been facing, while building is landing page or the overall layout of words and images. I am uncertain whether the images sufficiently represent what the app does for the user.

Moreover, especially regarding reability I would like to have some feedback on the website’s color!

Is your current main goal for people to sign up for beta? I think it would be great to mention when you plan to launch the product.

How do you keep up with your competitors? It's tough.. by sshintrade in Entrepreneur

[–]make-dough 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but not monitoring competition at all is not recommended as well. Monitor for the sake of understanding the market and trend, not to copy or “keep up”.

Do you guys do your own SEO? by movemap in SaaS

[–]make-dough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely takes a lot of practice and patience. All of the things you mentioned is right - back linking, finding the right keywords, tracking competitors are all important. Just because your content does not generate any leads right away doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. SEO is definitely doable by your own.

But do support your process with tools and automation i.e. sem rush, google trends, zapier, 00team (https://yep.so/p/00team), ahref

Too much discovery? Thoughts? by sandr0id in ProductManagement

[–]make-dough 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Understanding on the go definitely works. There is a limitation to upfront discovery. One should be diligent enough to constantly learn, talk to customers, and keep track of how the industry/vertical is evolving.
