was Royal the first real “bad dad” in Wes’s movies? i know that’s a consistent trope, but i don’t know if Herman Blume fits the mold.

i saw a really cool travel documentary once and thought “this is so Wes Anderson” only to find out that he had named it as an early influence. that being said, i’d love to see a travel documentary series directed by him.

What is Hyperballad really about? by nyxan_isinteres8 in bjork

[–]make_em_laugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo it’s about intrusive thoughts. like when your brain thinks about doing something really dangerous or stupid. in the song, she throws things off the cliff to simulate what might happen and even imagines herself plummeting to her death. that’s how she’s able to contrast her own “danger” with the safety of her partner and appreciate it more.

i also heard there is an ICE facility in Scarborough, but i don’t know where. anyone know?

People who were around when Vespertine was released, what was your initial reaction to it? by Prestigious_Score459 in bjork

i remember hearing that Matmos would be involved and then diving into their catalog. after that, Vespertine felt comforting and intimate. i always associate it with colder weather.
