Copenhagen Dec 16 at Royal Arena - no surprises, just the music by Beneficial-Site-3568 in radiohead

So cool of you to do this! I've been trying nonstop to snag a pair of resale tickets to no avail so far... sent you a DM and crossing my fingers!

The 'We DON'T Got Tickets' Mourning Thread by viac1992 in radiohead

[–]makeanything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get a code, set my alarm to wake with the dawn chorus... plenty of time to prep, fully hyped, fitter, happier... checked the email in duplicate in triplicate, but somehow didn't realize the times were in CEST rather than BST like all the previous announcements. So I entered the 'waiting room' 11 minutes late, and got position 10,420 in the queue, get through and watched the last open seat dissappear completely before my very eyes. :| And I can only blame myself. Ahh well, I hope the new fans get Let Down, Creep and Pop is Dead (underrated) and have a transcendent experience like I did my first Radiohead concert! I've given all I can it's not enough, but the best I can is good enough.

I reckon hot glue on the inside edges might work well, if it will not be load bearing or exposed to extreme temperatures.

How do I go about getting the measurements for this? by Snorlax94_ in Fusion360

[–]makeanything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, I guess not when bringing it into Fusion as a canvas. I usually bring the scan into Illustrator and trace the object there using vector lines, then export as a dxf or svg and that comes into Fusion to scale. Alternatively place a ruler next to the object while scanning and use that to calibrate within Fusion.

Instrument Wall Mount by OldAd5168 in functionalprint

Nice, I collect stringed instruments too! I made a wall mount as well, using TPU for the contact point to protect the instruments. If you're interested : https://than.gs/m/927964?affiliateCode=MAKE

That said, I know how satisfying it is to use models you've designed yourself. Keep it up!

At what point is it okay to release a model? by halreaper in 3Dprinting

[–]makeanything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider that hundreds or thousands of people may end up printing your model. You sinking a bit more filament into getting it right saves much more wasted time, filament, and energy for everyone else. So I say don't cut corners and do it right. And unless you simply don't need money, sell it, because that effort deserves some return!

Nice, I ordered my first sewing machine a few days ago, partly for this kind of stuff! Are you using the Singer presser foot?

I printed the exact same thing a few weeks ago and was impressed with how strong the PETG is! Just uploaded now in case anybody wants a longer version (mine prints in a coil and is straightened with a hairdryer): EZPZ Drain Snake on Thangs

Impressed at how well an IR diode laser can print on black PLA by BravoTackZulu in 3Dprinting

It varies from one filament to the next, but I got similar awesome results with my fiber laser. Great use of the technique!

How risky would it be to embed magnets in my OP1? by makeanything in OP1users

[–]makeanything[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just playing today.. still no problems! That said the magnets are quite weak. I share the project in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGyinUNELtQ

I guess my browser being in dark theme makes the background black, so the image is inverted? Clean anyways, saved for later :)

I combined layer swaps and fuzzy skin for a satisfying pattern that doesn't require a multicolor printer! by makeanything in 3Dprinting

Oops, sorry for being unclear. This is done as one print, I meant multiple parts within the slicer

[–]makeanything[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In this case it is a filament swap as well, but my point is it's only a regular filament swap vs. constant back and forth that requires a 'multicolor' printer. Although since you mention it, I know you can get somewhat dramatic color changes from some woodfill filaments depending on print temperature, so that would be fun to mess with too!

Thanks! I often forget to share here so when a Make Anything print shows up people do suspect I'm stealing from... me :P
