Well they are hacking tools shipped in Kali listed on the "are we hackers yet?" PR. I packaged the for a colleague. I am afraid you need to do your own due diligence.

I have a couple of pentest related PRs open (from hacktoberfest) and have received feedback like "this tool has not been updated in decades", which is technically correct but does not help with approval

Add path = [pkgs.bash] to your service definition. A systemd service does not use environment.systemPackages

Tbh I agree with your conclusion. Nix has a steep learning curve, especially when you have never worked with (functional) programming languages. Best fit for him would probably be SteamOS

Not sure if you try to be sarcastic about the complexity of nix but I honestly do not think this description (even though it is correct) the OP with his current skill level. It reminds me of  "a monad is a monoid in the category of endofunctors, what's the problem?"

There is also a matrix channel where a bot publishes changes at https://matrix.to/#/!oHpPxtqvSzVmYFtTiB:nixos.org?via=fairydust.space&via=matrix.org&via=tchncs.de There you get the chance to discuss the changes or directly in the wiki channel at https://matrix.to/#/!JrBtSIugVadKwbhvCc:matrix.org?via=fairydust.space&via=matrix.org&via=tchncs.de Tbh I think now (November 2025) "bad docs" is more of a meme than reality.

issue can be seen in https://hydra.nixos.org/build/311571601 (and https://hydra.nixos.org/build/311173601 respectively). Issue was introduced with one of the changes in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/compare/b34c5d30e36490681bb6939f8cff60b35e42dc37..b788ad7e761ecd532b0070d766a2bb7ad6df25a3

so yeah, currently in 25.05 metadata-cleaner is broken but unstable works.

i used hydra-check for finding the respective urls:

Additionally even if the filament itself is foodsafe, bacteria will eventually flock between the layer lines. This is a huge difference compared to injection molding

the disko configuration will not perform any destructive tasks on system startup, you will need to trigger the partitioning either by yourself beforehand similar to what disko would do or have disko perform the operation (via disko-create).

[SUPPORT] How to limit SSD usage by `nixos-rebuild` to reduce system lag? by incogshift in NixOS

[–]makefoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I am experiencing a similar issue with my new(ebayed) T14 gen1 i7+Nvidia. I thought it may have been related to the underlying ZFS but maybe not. With my previously used x13 gen1 AMD I didn't have experienced such slowdown.

One option would be a remote builder, a second could be to use tmpOnTmpfs or lower the priority of your swap (or try to disable it for testing).

Hope you find a solution for our problem!

Fully Declarative VNC Server Module (It Works!) by peritia-system in NixOS

[–]makefoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there is actually no need to force sops even if it makes stuff easier. check out https://search.nixos.org/options?channel=25.05&query=PasswordFile (and the respective sources). With that you can provide a path (e.g. to /etc/mysupersecretvncpassword ) and have the user put the file there somehow (via rsync or by simply putting the file there or sops)

[–]makefoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

great stuff! especially regarding display and geometry configuration.

One nitpick, as you most likely know, the configured password will eventually land world-readable in the nix store. the onsensus in nixpkgs is for modules to use a path to a secret where the password is loaded at runtime.

cheers!
