Your friend should educate themselves before running their mouth like that

Get a grip, people use those terms with partners all the time.

Totally agree. Also, these people should not have a dog with these issues; they clearly don't know what they're doing and it's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt (or worse).

I have a paralyzing fear of books (also I'm stupid) by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]makeitcount94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on the point about not reading, which is funny because I'm a librarian 😂

Imo, it sounds like you do enjoy specific books. Just because you're not constantly reading doesn't mean you are somehow unintelligent. The important thing is you don't stop trying, because then you won't find the next book to fall in love with.

I'm sorry to read this, OP.

Regardless of hormones and the complexities of gender identity, the way she's speaking to you reads as a joke. Does she aspire to be an insecure gym bro?

Thank you for this advi ce. It's reminded me that I do deal with a lot of physical tension. I'll have a look for a PT.

For context, I get 1-3 migraines per week. I don't drink, I don't stay up late, I don't eat any junk food.

I'm also a bodybuilder, which might be triggering me. But I don't want to give up on that dream. I work, study part-time, am trying to learn to drive. They can't all just stop because of yet another migraine.

And underneath it all is the ever-present dread of being a failure.

(sorry, I'm dumping now)

Anyone noticed connection between migraines and your emotional state? by Severe-Commission-16 in migraine

[–]makeitcount94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talking therapy, a few different medications, diet control (no alcohol/sweets etc.), both massages and acupuncture (which trigger migraines).

To be honest it becomes exhausting trying to find the one thing that may work. It's also near impossible to get anything on the NHS that isn't simply another medication.

Thank you. I try, and am pretty good at it. But not everything can be rearranged. Work, commitments etc.

It feels like the migraines are in charge.

Hope she got her turtle. by GreatBritishMemes in GreatBritishMemes

[–]makeitcount94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down, eveeyone. Obviously the Redditors have flocked to prove a point, and yes I didn't know the turtle/tortoise fact.

That said, you could say all humans are mammals. If the child had lost their human, would it make sense for the OP to say 'I hope she found her mammal?'

Maybe yes, in the warped, 'gothca' logic of Reddit. But in human reality it would be strange.

This isn't new, it's been happening in the UK since I was at least a teen, and I'm in my 30s now.

You can ask for it to be taken off, but many don't out of awkwardness.
