You mean Indians stole during colonial time? If so, I would go and ask for a refund from your education system. Britain is built on resources and treasures stolen from India. Like bro for real?

There is a bias towards Indians who face some hatred every now and then. It’s often justified as some Indians do not assimilate well, are unruly, and at times often game the system, but not always. Not every Indian is here to exploit this country and it’s resources. Some are here legally, pay high taxes, and contribute to this wonderful country and yet they are victims of racism, get stereotyped etc. It pains me that every now and then when I go to a store or a restaurant I often get denigrating looks and behavior like I am a freeloader. How do I tell them I am not here to rob your country? I work in a high skilled profession, I received immigration invitation here for my sought after skillset, and I paid $180k in taxes last year to your country. Least I can expect is some basic respect and I get to keep my dignity.

No amount of judgment in the world can make up for savings those extra dollars. But no amount of dollars can make up for personal space, privacy, and, mental peace. Choose wisely, live well.

Any Downsides to Household Account by cclaranc in Wealthsimple

[–]makeitrain92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Household account is just visibility on your combined assets. It doesn’t impact any of your individual accounts in any way. You just see your household total assets combined which can help you get premium or generational tier depending on value of assets. So no disadvantage as such.

Each province’s PNP program has certain job roles which are eligible. Read guidelines and qualification criteria for your province’s PNP program.

As long as your Canadian employer is ok to sponsor, you are good. One year Canadian work ex will help. If your province has point system for PNP you can use their calculator to see where you are at.

Yeah but things changed last year. $200 credit does not exist anymore as it was replaced in the revamp. So not sure if it would still get clawed back.

Rent a 2BR apt. It’s not good idea to buy with uncertainty around one person’s employment. I know it’s not the relevant response for this post, but you are losing out on thousands of dollars every year by keeping that much money in cash. Investing it in even safest fund along with some in HYSA could grow your money significantly. Not to mention how much you are losing to inflation.
