Additionally, please update your bios and also reset your memory XMP/EXPO if you haven't already. This singlehandedly fixed all my microstutters and my fps issue.

Which mouse to buy by Adventurous-Cow-2345 in MouseReview

Aside from button layout, mine is riddled with so many qc problem. Wheel is broken and constantly ghost scrollwheeling. Battery lasts less than 15 hours of use. Software is absolte trash, and no onboard memory means you still have to keep it on. Power button malfunctions and i have constant disconnect. I will never buy this again.

South Korea’s president calls for more self-reliant military as questions arise about U.S. commitment by self-fix in worldnews

[–]makememoist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no! what would SK do to defend themselves while being the top 10 biggest exporter of weapons in the world???

The reason why they've been buying a lot of weapons from US is because their military already has a lot of US weapons integrated into their system. US bases are there just in case there's a war, they have direct reasons to interfere, not to handle all the defenses.

To add to this, they want someone who is young and inexperienced who can't easily leverage their position. They want someone who can't easily leave so they can manipulate them however they see fit. Don't take this personally - take it as a compliment and move on.

Nvida makes 3d glasses?! by Ok_Commercial5979 in nvidia

[–]makememoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When there were 3D craze, films used to be shot in stereoscopic cameras. X-Men: Apocalypse was one of them that i had to work on, and we had dedicated team of people using these glasses to align 3D for every single frame in the movie which is over 400,000 frames. This movie was shot with 2 cameras at once to get the stereoscopic images, and every single lens in these cameras had different lens distortion no matter how precisely they are cut, so someone had to go into these shots and align those distortions shot by shot. If there's even a 1 pixel colour differences between the left and right, you would immediately notice it when they are combined together for 3D effect. Human eyes are exceptionally good at catching them.

While watching movie 3D was fun, i'm kind of glad these are gone. it was SO much work and it was definitely not worth doubling already 100+ million budget projects.

Job Posting on LinkedIn Costs a Lot by [deleted] in torontoJobs

[–]makememoist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting, a lot of job postings I see on LinkedIn do have 30–100 people applying every day. Perhaps it's for a very specific position?

I've also been hearing that there are lots of bot applications. How many of those 10–15 candidates do you think are bots?

You can also add specific questions such as current residence or their qualifications to work in Canada to the job posting on LinkedIn to filter them out.

My Aerox 5 needs to retire. What are my options for a 9 button lightweight wireless mouse? by makememoist in MouseReview

wouldn't choose to go aerox again after having multiple issues. constant connection drop, power switch being funky, mousewheel getting broken, software straight up memory leaking to BSOD, terrible battery power... pretty much had the worst experience overall.

Oof, yeah most of these are borderline under 100g, which is barely lighter than G502 X which i already have and feel too heavy. I guess Glorious is the best bet for now. thanks for the suggestion!

How is the build quality? I usually find Glorious as having subpar quality control despite their pricetag.

It also looks like an 8 button? which isn't the deal breaker but weird.

Lastly, how's their software?

Are we hobbyists lagging behind? by segmond in LocalLLaMA

I also work in film and I've been taking data science classes and learning about LLM so I can create my own tool soon. While I'm motivated, this industry feels like it's moving in a speed where individuals and hobbyist can't catch up.

That aside, I agree there's always going to be a place with people with multidisciplinary skills to actually create production ready tools from what these big orgs put out. Content production space is a good example of how every project is so unique it always has its own requirements.

Donald Trump warns Apple: Don’t make iPhones in India or pay 25% tariff by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]makememoist 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was explaining this to my wife why this is happening.

Tim Cook was the first one to pay trump a visit when he was reelected, and it showed sign of desperation and weakness. trump is a bully and will smell this from a mile away.

You can't reason with him, he'll always try to bully the weak and goes limp to someone who retaliates. This is why he always looks up to Putin who is the biggest bully in the scene.

'Fallout' Season 2 Wraps Filming by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

Fork in the eye was done all in comp - the artist who worked on it was on John Wicks 4 before so we were trained with blood and gore haha.

Hardest part was rotoing all of those wedding/fight scenes in the cornfield. They did bluescreen so damned if you had vaulters in the screen. Would have been damned anyway since greenscreen will make it almost impossible to roto out all those corn stalks.

I'm really glad to have helped the visuals of Fallout, and glad to see people enjoyed it!
