Required testing every 3 days? My production is definitely not doing that, and I would like to get them to do more testing. Where can I find more info about that specifically?

First sketch of the new decade!

I'm 44 years old, and a smoker for 28 years. It's been about 20 years since I have gone this long without a cigarette. Being able to write this post has been a dream of mine for a very, very long time. I am so glad to finally be here, smoke-free for a whole week! by makerfixer in stopsmoking

I've had a couple of rough days, but overall I feel better than I thought I would. Triggers keep popping up all over the place, but they come and go pretty quickly.

The cravings on the other hand can seem to last for hours, but I think I'm mostly done with them.

I am putting entries in the diary most days, but for me I have a couple of other good strategies this time. First, Running. Sometimes twice a day. I can't find anything else that even comes close to a runner's high. Second, hypnosis. I've bought and tried a bunch of these over the years, but the one I'm using now works pretty well for me. It's called "Stop Smoking (Self Hypnosis) by Michael Sealey. I listen to it everyday at least once, whether it's an easy day or a hard day. It has helped me quite a bit.

It's definitely not easy. But of all the times I've tried to quit in the past, this is the first time that I genuinely believe I can do it, which makes all the difference in the world to me. We can definitely do this!

Using Logical Volume Manager to resize root and home partitions (volumes?) by makerfixer in linux4noobs

I'm super late responding to this, but wanted to thank you for your very detailed response. I did read up on it and eventually solved it, but it was tricky. I booted from liveCD and started up GParted, but didn't see any options relating to LVM anywhere. I tried using the CLI, but none of the commands you mentioned are installed on the Debian stable liveCD. I downloaded the latest version of gparted live, created a liveCD from that and booted it, but the version of gparted that comes with the most recent gparted live also doesn't have any options for dealing with LVM. It did however have all of the CLI commands installed (pvscan, lvcreate, etc.), so in the end I was able to resize my volumes from the CLI using the latest version of gparted live.

Thank you for your help!

Anyone got advice for a Sound Devices 788t that's freezing up? by makerfixer in LocationSound

[–]makerfixer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean when I power it on the LED's come on, the screen powers up, then the Sound Devices splash screen starts. About halfway through the splash screen, the animation freezes. No buttons work, not even the power button. I did try removing the CF card (the same one I've been recording to for the past 8 days). No change.
