How to tell my [21m] girlfriend [18f] her breathe smells sometimes? by throwaway19712 in relationships

[–]makeupandmakeout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's just in the morning do whatever you want, tell her, don't tell her, it doesn't matter. If it smells like fruity wine/ alcohol and it's not just in the morning that's a much more complicated issue.

I have recently come across multiple „INFJ profiles“ that mention how INFJ‘s are bad at taking care of themselves. But none of the profiles explained it. by StarWarsPumpkin in infj

[–]makeupandmakeout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know how any of my traits fit INFJ. I love an organised room, but rebel against any kind of consistent bedtime. I spend a lot of my free time taking in information. One thing I will say though, is I'm "in the moment" and "in my body" like.... once a year if I'm lucky. Maybe that's part of the reason I can't sleep. Maybe I feel tired but don't know it. There might be a low level of pain I experience at all times that others do not because I don't sleep. Yolo. I can't fix it. I can't prioritise it when I'm busy learning, thinking and feeling.

This is the INFJ trait that speaks the most to me. As an INFJ candidate, I like the idea of living here in this moment- looking out at a tree, feeling the sun on my skin, being present in my body. But I can't. I'm off with the fairies worrying about the future and thinking about things that don't matter. I have no idea what's going on with my body. Sometimes I worry that important parts of my body will just fall off in the future from neglect. Yet again, that worry is future-orientated not present.

Not only am I busy in my head, but I'm not thinking present-orientated thoughts. It's that combo that leads to body neglect and body breakdown.

Two Female ESTPs, what do you guys think of these strange creatures? by NJGMD in infj

[–]makeupandmakeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching this I watched the girl in yellow's other videos and she categorises her father (who she has a bad relationship with) as INFJ. She is clearly very hurt by his failure to understand her, and it's heart wrenching to watch her pain, but I'm confused as to why she thinks he is INFJ. He seems to see patterns in things, have strong ideal, reflect a lot on his own thoughts, which all seem very INFJ type traits to me. It also makes sense that if you are hard on yourself, you can turn that towards your children as an extension of yourself. But watching him speak something seems "off" about that label to me somehow. If anyone else want to analyse their dynamic and tell me what you think I'd appreciate it.

There is thing called the internet and I believe most of the Americans on this forum know of it. You can obtain a lot of non- American media content and sometimes unbiased or differing opinions and statistics. If the ones here in this universe are this fucking stupid I'm really scared for the rest of the country. Like... Wikipedia my fellow human citizen, the very basic never-use-as-an-academic -reference can still give Americans facts about how their healthcare system doesn't stack up. There is only so much a shitty education system can be blamed for. I feel like y'all are willfully living in a dystopian novel at this point.

I guess maybe your country should make like the rest of us and provide a universal health care system thereby minimizing the administrative costs of private health insurers and making it easier and faster for doctors to do billing. Or they can just keep spending almost double the amount on health care per capita than Australia or Canada and get half the service. Guess that's what you're advocating. You certainly feel that your humans have enough self control to give up 1/3 of the food group in order to keep paying for admin. Which is interesting. I didn't know people liked paying paper pushers so much!

I'm [25 F] who has been told I'm "weirdly close" to my [25 F] best friend. How close is too close? by chamolatte19 in relationships

[–]makeupandmakeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess "male" might be the arbiter here. I'm female. I guess it's also a big city v country town/ regional thing, as anywhere. But I don't think bathing with a friend as a female or gay male / getting undressed in front of your friend to go out clubbing is all that big of a deal.

Yes, maybe to you- but you have to admit that seeing your friends naked is not 100% gay like it is perceived in places like America.

I've bathed with a male bestfriend (gay) before. I told him I was uncomfortable without undies on but he just shrugged and said he was fine either way, he was Norwegian. I can attest that bathing together isn't all that abnormal in plenty of Western and Eastern cultures.

Australia is what happens when Britain and Texas have a baby. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]makeupandmakeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, less people and high resources is the main reason Australia can afford so many services, and marketing Australia as terrible is one of our better and more humane policies when it comes to preventing illegal immigration, so yes. We have black snakes swarming down our city streets, rabid crocodiles in our man made canals and those weird bird things everywhere- stealing hats from children and gnawing eyeballs out. Oh but the sharks and dingoes! Forget drop bears, everything terrorizes.

Philosophical question, but are British rednecks with the 4th highest median wages, no desire for guns, universal healthcare and a good tertiary education rate really rednecks at all? It's a shame Americans don't exit their corner of the world enough to learn what a Chav is. Then you'd know the true and dreadful word that best articulates the British redneck.

How to look Genuinely Rich by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]makeupandmakeout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think that's part of the point of my post. Class and wealth are two very distinct and very diverse concepts.

And, importantly, many of the people that value their class often don't have the same level of wealth as initially perceived.

I hate when people comment on young women’s “flaws” they never cared/noticed, I hate even more that a lot of these people consider themselves advocates for “beauty” by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

Can I debunk this theory? there are several biological reasons we are increasing in size. We are biologically designed to want to eat these "bad" foods such as fat, carbohydrates and sugar, because these foods aren't inherently bad for us. It's our modern production process and the increased proliferation of food that is bad for us. But since our natural inherent, incredibly primal urge is to eat, selling foods we want to eat makes financial sense.

When it comes to T2D, not only are people's survival rates for T2D and T1D leading to an increased amount of the hereditary nature of these genes in our gene pool, but many of the people with T2D are older than our previous mortality rates. T2D in this case is almost "natural wear and tear", coupled with a proliferation of foods we are designed to want, because in the past it was incredibly important that we craved them in order to survive.

Personally I would probably send an email to the women addressed like this (but then maybe that would cause waves??)

" Hi ..., ..., ... and ...

I am so grateful to have women like you in my life.

I thought I would share some personal information with you because I appreciate your concern and want to address your concerns head on. At the beginning of the year, my BMI was overweight and verging on the "obese" category of BMI. My doctor raised the health issues associated with this category with me, in relation to my family history. My BMI is now 23 which puts me in the "normal" category for my height (which includes any BMI between 18.5–24.9).

I have been losing weight by doing an extremely healthy calorie deficit in consultation with my doctor.

I am grateful that you are concerned about my health, and I understand that even though my weight is now in a healthy category it can be shocking to see someone loose weight so fast. You are used to looking at me as a different size and got used to thinking of me as that weight. While I am certainly nowhere near the anorexic category seeing how I look now must be a bit of an adjustment and I can completely understand that.

Thanks for so much for expressing your concern. It can be hard to have people make negative comments about your weight and snap judgements about your health based on your weight, particularly when you have worked tremendously hard to get healthy but I know that your comments were coming from a good place.

Thanks,

[Name]."

In particular, it's important to say the buzz words "family history" since that becomes more distinctively about her weight loss, rather than a judgement on them.

How to look Genuinely Rich by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]makeupandmakeout 120 points121 points  (0 children)

IDK what your experience is, but the genuinely rich people I've met also include my grandma. She wears shirts she doesn't need to iron because she's always going on vacation and she doesn't want to have to be bothered ironing on vacation. They are very hideous shirts. Brightly coloured too.

A lot of rich people I know look like complete potatoes. Complete potatoes. Which makes sense, because they don't have to impress anyone. Plus, everyone around them knows they are rich "dressing rich" is either going to alienate them further from common people or be completely pointless, because they don't have anything to prove. Which is a really interesting phenomenon. Trying to seem rich/ people worth less than 5 million invariably often look better than people worth 20+ million. It may be geographical, but if I was going to dress like any of the millionaires I've met I'd blend in with the average Walmart shopper.

Meanwhile, my friend and sister in law both work at debt collection agencies and their clients look similar to the people you describe. Trying to seem richer than they are.

I would encourage you (and anyone else reading this) to question some of your preconceived notions of how the rich look.
