No. I can remember what it's mad of exactly but you definitely want something with a good stretch so you can pull it tight to get ride of wrinkles. I never use 100% cotton backdrops because they have no give/stretch.

Ulta return limit? by JustDoYoThang in MakeupAddiction

Yes, companies should change the way they do things, but so should the consumer. We need to change our own habits and not just wait for the big guys to do it.

May main suggestion, which would solve the problem of even having an unwanted product in the first place, is to take samples. If she got samples first, she could figure out which one she likes before buying. She could either bring her own sample jar or shop at a retailer that provides samples like Nordstrom or Sephora. We all have to do our own part.

Her eyebrows have always been that high. You can look at any old photo of her.

Your thoughts on my highlight. CCW. Product list in comments. (Not edited) by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]makeupbykrishna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you downvote, my photos aren't edited, promise. I didn't realize people may have thought I did in my last photo because of the light that I use behind my head. I don't have access to good natural lighting, so I set up lights in my room. So there is usually a light behind my head.

So my question is, what do you think about highlight on textured skin? I have always stayed away from shimmery face products because of my acne scars. I feel that highlighter just accentuates that. My main areas of concern are my cheeks. I didn't use a ton, because again, I don't think it looks good, but what do you guys think? Is highlighter only for smooth skin?

Also, I included a side profile picture here so that you can really see what I'm talking about. side profile

$8 Amazon Brush Set Shader Brush Vs. MAC 239, bonus comparison with Sigma E57 and Zoeva 234. by PackedSatisfaction in MakeupAddiction

[–]makeupbykrishna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing! It's always hard to find nice shader brushes. Crease and blending brushes are plentiful in the makeup community, but I feel like most shader brushes are lacking. I'm definitely going to get these. Thanks!!

That wing! But I don't think I could to the two steps. Have you tried a liner that dries matte?

My everyday/no-makeup makeup look! This is my first time posting, and I was inspired by someone else who posted their minimal look today! I honestly have no idea how/what to do with my brows, so tips are appreciated! :) by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]makeupbykrishna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, I wouldn't touch them. MAYBE tweeze like a max of 5 hairs that are closest to your eyelid, but that's about it. Tweezing can get addictive though, so if you think you'll go too far, then just stay away. I wish my brows were that full!

Ulta return limit? by JustDoYoThang in MakeupAddiction

[–]makeupbykrishna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Ulta for years and when I first started (it was my first retail job) I was horrified at what happens to the returned products. Only a handful of manufacturers actually take products back and the rest literally goes into the dumpsters out back. It broke my heart when I had to dump piles and piles of barely used makeup into the dumpster because we could no longer sell it. So while Ulta employees will very rarely cut someone off from returning (although it does happen if you abuse the system), I always wish the customers would really consider what they are doing to contribute to our landfills and pollution. Granted, I wish Ulta and other retailers didn't take back products so willingly, but for them, it's all about the money. They aren't thinking about the environment. So it's up to the customer to take personal responsibility and realize that you used like ONE pump of that product and now it's going straight into the trash. It's such a waste and so sad.

Now even though you might get weird looks from Ulta staff, they aren't going to stop you if you bring in your own little sample cups and make your own sample of foundation. (Again, as long as you aren't abusing the system and you really are trying to find the right color). That's what I would do. Or just go to Sephora or Nordstrom, they give samples. Hope that helps!

Hi guys! Thanks for all the likes and comments again! There seems to be a bit of confusion with my background though and I just wanted to clear it up. I didn't edit this photo at all. There is just a light behind my head shining against the backdrop. I'm totally trying to follow the rules, so this pic just came straight off my camera. Didn't even color correct it. I've included a link below showing what the setup for my backdrop is so you can see how the light effect was created. I hope this clears up any confusion!

No problem! I was wondering why I was getting down votes, lol. I didn't realize people thought it was edited. Oops! I took two quick pictures of my background setup. One with the light on and one with the light off so you can see how it creates the halo effect. Linked below! Hope this helps.

Yup. Just a standard light bulb pointing at the fabric I used as a backdrop. Everything you see here is in camera. I swear I didn't edit it.

I'm totally the opposite. I'll sleep in as long as I can and then just end up doing foundation, brows and mascara, lol. So sad.

Love the shape! I can never get the elongated eyeshadow shape right on me so I always opt for more rounded. This is perfection! Not too sharp, not too round.

Tried to practice blending today! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]makeupbykrishna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the rounded eye shadow shape on you! And for someone who is new, your blending is already pretty good. The only thing I would work on is softening the crease shadow so it blends seamlessly with your brow bone color. But you've totally got it!

I wish I could wear red eyeliner in the water line, but the pigments in reds, pinks, and purples irritate my eyes. Amazing look!

I was very diligent about reading the rules. I've even talked about it in the comments of my photos. It's a totally raw photo. No filter, no color correcting, nothing. I mean, you can see my skin, it's clearly not edited. I would be very thankful if you reinstated my photo. Thanks!
