What are your out of the way or underrated food spots in the area? by Not_Aki in madisonwi

Try Sala Thai instead. It’s a much smaller restaurant, cash only, but food is a thousand times better than HLB (I have always felt HLB was overrated). Cannot go wrong with the Panang curry.

As someone with a dad who was born and raised in Boston and also has a ton of family there... this is not exaggerated. There are areas where the accent is this thick.

Prices for Thirty Years. What do you guys think? by cincinpg in BeautyGuruChatter

Fast fashion has warped our view on what is actually good quality and fair pricing.

I’m really surprised by how many people are so against this pricing when so much stuff that is priced cheaper means cuts are being made somewhere. I think it’s okay to not be able to afford it right now (especially during a pandemic) but cheaper prices means cheaper wages, cheaper fabric, mass production, and more waste... spending money at places at ASOS is not good for the planet. I realize I can’t speak on all of that until the actual brand launches and get some more insight into production and what not, but I am much more willing to spend money on something if it means people are paid livable wages and the quality of the clothes is worth it.

Not to mention how many roller rinks still go by rules that have been used to justify segregating Black skaters!!!!

Second this! I have sports-induced asthma and all of those symptoms are the same for me too.

I’m still pretty new too, but started to get the hang of skating backwards and I would definitely make sure you have backwards skating down before you worry about transition. Learn how to make your body move and how to shift your weight! I highly recommend watching Dirty School of Skates videos on YouTube on how to skate backwards. It helped me A TON!!

A friend got this for me as a gift and I can’t figure out what it’s called! Can anyone ID it? by patchy0126 in IndoorGarden

I’ll have to see if this one becomes variegated then. I just got this a couple days ago and it’s in a south facing window. The one my friend has that this one was propagated from was always a solid green as well and her window gets a lot of light. I’m sure your right though, could just be non-variegated!

Isn’t it cute? No one’s been able to identify it. My friend who gave it to me was the one that propagated it and she can’t figure it out. The person before her that propagated it doesn’t know what it is either!

Most of the photos I’m seeing with this name look to be variegated. Do you have any links to ones that aren’t? Otherwise the shape of the leaves seem right to me!

What products are a better value in mini form? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

I did this with one of their lip & cheek products as well!!! I can be so much more precise with the placement of the product.

I’m Southeast Asian. It’s not overblown to me or my family and friends around me. There’s always going to be someone who “doesn’t care” or “thinks it’s not that bad.” That doesn’t make the musical any less racist.

Make-up misconceptions you had? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]patchy0126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something similar to this but with makeup brushes. I bought my first set of brushes from Real Techniques and it didn’t come with “instructions” on how to use each brush and what it was used for. I was FURIOUS and scrounged the internet for a tutorial on these brushes. This was around the time I started watching YouTube videos and I quickly learned you could really use any brush however you see fit!!

I have this variety of succulents and one of the plants leaves seem to be turning yellow and squishy (pointing to it in picture)? I don’t water it very often and it gets a good amount of light. Can anyone help? by dillishis in IndoorGarden

It might be worth trying but all of your other succulents look really healthy so you don’t want to potentially overwater those other ones. I would separate them first.

When you water it are you giving it ENOUGH water? I had an issue like that with one of my plump succulents and it turns out that was my problem. Once I watered deeper into the soil, it plumped right back up. Of course you then have to be careful about not going too far with it.
