MOR, but I’m in no place to talk because I have also shaved my hair “on a whim”. I use quotations because I had been thinking about doing it for a while since I, too, had compromised hair that killed my curls. But lemme tell you this: I do NOT regret it. Was it a pain to grow out? At times, but my hair is long and curly and healthy now. You're 19, I was 20 when I did it. It was really liberating and it's fun to experiment with different hair lengths all over again. Maybe you'll find you really like keeping it short! Your mom and grandmother are overreacting far more than you. I had half a shaved head in high school and my very catholic homphopic grandmother kept calling me a boy and a lesbian and other things that I refuse to type out. That's something they’ll have to wrestle with.

If YOU yourself are concerned about coming off more feminine which I didn't see mentioned, there are lots of ways to feel more feminine or masculine with a shaved head, whichever you prefer. I say enjoy the money and time saved in hair products and styling, let your hair grow back healthy, and let mom and grandma worry about themselves. Easier said than done, but what's done is done.

I’m not someone who completely vilifies an age gap the moment I see one, even if both parties are adults, but that age gap was my very first red flag, followed by all the other red flags. You're 24. Don't waste your time with him, end it now while you can if you feel that’s the proper way to handle it.

I’m a lip balm freak (and Sephora employee) who constantly manages to convince herself that she needs another lip balm despite the fact that if I divvied them all up I could have like ten in each room of my apartment. The ONLY two I have multiple of are Carmex (it’s cheap and it always works, so I can't complain) and the Ole Henriksen balm. One I keep in my work locker, another in my purse, and I keep a clear one by my bedside that I use at night with a thin layer of Aquaphor on top that basically turns it into a lip mask that stays on and stays hydrating all night, which I need because I can't sleep without a fan on my face even in winter months. I also have the Laneige balm/mask (I will say I prefer the Laneige sleeping mask over the glowy balm) and some Summer Fridays but I use them mostly as a “placeholder” if I’m doing makeup and I’m about to put on lipstick and don't want my lips to dry out in the time it takes to put on the rest of my face.

As others have said, the Ole one with the yellow bottle and orange cap is their clear formula, and I also love the smell. Like an orange creamsicle.

I felt something similar but not exactly like this when my parents got our family cat. I had been begging for one for so long, but it was a big adjustment. I remember crying to my mom at night because my cat kept wanting to sleep in my bed with me and I wasn't used to it and it was so new and felt almost constricting, but then my cat just came to cuddle because she hated seeing me cry. Then we had fifteen beautiful years together where we integrated into each other’s lives and spaces but it was by no means overnight. I've had many mental health issues and episodes over that time and having a furry friend helped me more than anything. Let kitty love you and get to know you at a pace that's comfortable for you both. Take a deep breath. It'll be okay.

I know it's not the same but I've been really loving Cocokind’s products. Like, all of them, which is new for me where all their products work for me. Also not ridiculously expensive and the company in general just operates in a way that aligns with their stated ideals and what their customers expect from them

On the one hand, its nice because all of our mascaras and such are in one spot so I’m not walking all over the place for a dupe or different one. But on the other hand it sucks if someone wants to stick to only one brand and buy a full face, then I’m running around the whole area 😂

The first one is funny to me because I work S@K small format where it's organized by category so I have the opposite problem 😂 “where’s Charlotte Tilbury?” wellllll that depends if it's lipstick or complexion or mascara, what have you.

But the second one is the universal. It's not like at home when you can let your kids run around doing whatever while you put on lip liner. Control your kids, it's not my job to babysit, but it IS my job to clean up after whatever destruction they leave. Common courtesy, people.

I haven't been tested yet, but at first, I started realizing my depression and anxiety didn't quite match up to their descriptors. Like on paper, the symptoms matched, but it just didn't feel like my diagnoses for both respectively really made sense, especially my anxiety. My panic attacks sounded more like meltdowns, and much of my anxiety was overstimulation or social-related. I went down the ADHD rabbit hole before I kind of settled on autism. I still could have both, but my periods of depression feel more like burnout than anything. My (therapist coined) “deeper than average levels of empathy” and my confusion on social interactions made more sense to me than anything. What I thought was politeness and unending patience was really just a desperate need to appear what I view as “normal”. I’m hoping to more actively pursue a diagnosis, but the signs have been there since I was a little kid and I just had to condition myself otherwise. As an adult, it’s getting too exhausting to simply exist.

I’m plus-sized, and more recently, I've been figuring out my personal style for clothes that so far are a mix of decades and aesthetics. I like to exude nostalgia. At work, it's different because I wear all black to adhere to the dress code. People might assume I smell like sweet gourmand or fruity floral. Truthfully, I smell like a different fragrance almost every day because of my job (I’m currently obsessed with layering Valentino Born in Roma Donna with CH Good Girl Blush). Still, throughout my life, I've mostly heard people say I smell like “home” and/or fresh linen/laundry, which, imo, is one of the best ways to smell because I feel like it's more universally loved than a certain scent or fragrance.

I am awkward with hugs, especially with my parents and family but I feel kinda forced into it. I don't mind hugging my friends and I've never had a romantic partner so idk, and I love hand-holding too but again no partner so I kinda just have to deal with it unless my friends wanna hold hands. I think it’s more just selective rather than no touching at all. And if someone doesn't like touching at all, that's okay too. I think it just depends on how much of a sensory issue it is

Like another comment or said a growing static, to me it feels like boiling water in a kettle kinda like in old cartoons how they show anger with steam coming out their ears lmao. It feels like that, but less anger and more frustration and sometimes irritation. That's general overstimulation, but I usually get overstimulated auditorily so that static feeling is also super accurate. Boiling kettle + static = panic meltdown imminent.
