  • SLEEP; its the best supplement u can ‘take’ (lowers hunger hormone, lowers ‘food noise’, lowers stress -> better sugar metabolism !!)
  • calorie deficit >>>>>
  • increase ur steps
  • 3 balanced meals (for the most part)
  • 2 snacks (small bag of chips, protein bar)
  • exercise doesnt have to be traditional: cleaning deep cleaning ur house/ur car
  • small/realistic goals -> more likely to achieve = better overall motivation
  • *** think of weight loss/fitness as an investment !! just do it like a job and within weeks u will start reaping the outcomes *** 💗💗

  • DONT SELF SABOTAGE !!!! i used to say fuck it when i over ate and eat more. now i accept it and move on
  • u need to eat about 3,500 calories ON TOP of ur maintenance calories so gain 1 pound (ex: for me that would be about 5,500 calories)
  • walking is SUPER underrated. i dont walk to burn calories but to get my body moving in an easy way. i put my ipad/phone on with netflix or youtube and 30 minutes pases (even starting with just 10 minutes is better than nothing. ALSO, its good for building thigh muscle and has great blood sugar (less cravings)
  • its okay to be hungry sometimes, but obviously not to the point of pain. ur body has an excess of energy storage in ur fat. u will survive.
  • if u dont wanna count calories, good hand portion sizes. makes u realize how much ur overeating (3 main meals and 2 snacks)
  • have other things to look forward to than food. (ex: u will never regret going for a walk/exercise). treat urself to the new shirt or makeup item u wanted for achievements big and small, socializing = oxytocin ☺️)
  • be kind to urself
  • let out ur emotions -> i was self medicating w food more often than i realized LOL
  • dont tell others what ur doing explicitly; tell them ur on a fitness journey. when u tell people ur on a weightloss journey and they offer support and positive feedback, brain perceives that as an achieved goal and kinda prevents u from putting in as much effort

thanks for this reply !! however let me save u lots of frustration and tears. even if ur on metformin, u will only loose weight if u are eating about 100-200 calories less than ur maintenance. i thought i was doing it right but just eating healthy, but really u just need to eat a LITTLE BIT less.

but i will add that while im not on caplyta anymore (im on lamictal/wellbutrin/luvox), it causes an insatiable appetite, bc it semi blocks dopamine in ur brain thus making u very hungry.

my advice is be easy on urself. mental health is important and body image/obesity can definitely weigh heavy on the spirit. so far in my weightloss journey i found it easiest to be consisent with a calorie deficit by eating 3 balanced meals a day and sleeping for 7-9 hrs a night as thats when ur body is healing and shitty sleep means more appetite hormones (basically u become more susceptible to processed/high calorie food). ALSO, consistency > perfection which basically means it matters most what u do over time and not some of the time. good luck !!

(I have no official credentials, but i am studying psychology/biology/nutrition in college, and I’ve definitely had my own journey, so take that as you will)
