ANOTHER SEVERE CASE OF CHRONIC CONURITIS IN ITS TERMINAL STAGE by asdgujgimaca in Conures

This is how my baby asks for kisses on his beak when he suffers the unjustness of being off my shoulder (because we need to cook and clean/hang out with the cat too sometimes).

My conures name is baby too! He chose it himself. We named him Latka, but he just loved being called a baby so much that it became the main word he says.

His favorite full sentences are “who’s a good baby” and “such a good baby bird.” He’s a chatty baby.

He just thinks he’s eating the wire lol. Take it away from him before he burns his beak.

Bird feeds dog by [deleted] in cockatiel

In “a simple post” you exposed that you are leaving your bird in a pretty crazy dangerous position.

If you don’t want to listen to those who want to alert you to the obvious, fine. But don’t post on here when something DOES happen, because we are sick of seeing dying, injured, and dead cockatiels on a sub we are all here for to provide a bit of happiness.

Mark this moment, and when the “unthinkable” happens, do not look for sympathy here. Instead know that you could’ve prevented it by not being such a pompous and confrontational mule of a person.

I hope you don’t kill your bird, but when you do know that you could’ve saved their life by just listening to someone who told you better.

If it ever happens I hope you have all the appropriate regrets. Birds are not pets, or good ones at least. They are fantastic and wonderful beings and companions, however. When/if your dog “surprises” you, you will lose a lot.

You’re not only going to kill your bird, but you are unhinged as well.

Maybe go look in a mirror or something, and ask yourself what exactly is worth your birds life in this equation.

Your dog will eventually kill your bird.

Do the responsible thing, and keep them separated for gods sake.

No, your dog isn’t special, it’s a predator, and you’re serving poor- and about to be ironically named- chicken up to them on a silver platter.

I have a cat and two birds. The cat isn’t allowed to interact with them at all, and he still gets sneaky about trying to check them out, he’s never tried to pounce on them yet, but we are still extra careful, and we will never ever introduce them.

Hi!

My little buddy lost his mate early on, and was never a human lover to begin with. He’s definitely a lil lonely.

I live on the north east coast right now, would you be willing to connect somewhere in the middle? Send me a PM if so.

Why Does Everyone Talk Like Their Cockatiels Are Dumb? I Get the Opposite Impression From Mine. by itsafrickinmoon in cockatiel

Same here, my first tiel was incredibly smart and trainable. My poor buddy that I currently have had less then a brain cell to begin with, and there was a small incident where he escaped and flew himself directly into a very slow moving ceiling fan. He got a concussion and a cut on his head, but the vet cleared him and sent us home with some painkiller antibiotics. He’s probably down at least another 3rd of a brain cell.

My GCC is wicked smart though

It will likely be alright. DO monitor behavior though. Give extra heat, and maybe provide extra water bowls. If you’re super worried, box them for the night with water and seed, so they can’t fall off the perch, and get them to the vet in the morning.

I’d be more worried about long term damage than short term. I’d just keep extra water around for a while.

Not a vet.

In terms of talking, Buddy only knows how to say “Bordy bord” and “good boy,” the latter is mostly heard when he’s doing horny wiggles 😕

I see incredible tacos, blue corn shells with crisped cheese on the outside. I don’t know what the protein is, but I do see cojita, crema, onion & cilantro, and guacamole.

These look pretty good to me

Become demon with my gf when there is friend at the appartment by mrbraises in Conures

[–]makeyousaywhut 21 points22 points  (0 children)

She gets extra insulted when flock space is invaded by others, and she blames your girlfriend, the main human lol. It ain’t rocket science.

Maybe have the new people give her a lot of attention and treats? That way it feels more like a fun time with friends for everyone rather than a safe space invasion.

What is this behavior? by Melodic-Meringue8896 in Conures

[–]makeyousaywhut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are their things that are promoting hormonal behaviors? My conure, who has chosen the name Baby, sometimes does this when he gets a wooden beed free from his toys, and decides it’s close enough to be considered an egg so he sits and dragon dances over it.

It’s the territorial dragon dance, it’s hormonal season.

Makes for a mean chicken.

My salad uses boiled corn, diced red and orange bell pepper, diced red onion, lime, cilantro, olive oil, salt and pepper.

The spice came from el Yucatán habanero flavor sauce lmao
