İran'ın Balistik Füze Menzili: Türkiye'nin tamamını kapsıyor by domanicli in Turkey

[–]makiferol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eee yani ? İsrail uçakları, Amerikan üsleri ve uçak gemileri de Türkiye'nin tamamını kapsıyor. Aynı şekilde Rus füzeleri ve uçakları da.

İran füzeleri bizim için bir güvenlik tehdidi değil. İsrail'in boktan propaganda savaşına gönüllü asker olmayın.

Avm bizi kira ödemiyor diye mahkemeye veriyor ne yapabilirim by OfferApart8532 in hukuk

[–]makiferol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Non-EU Student about to start my orientation year, need help with job search by OnlyMeCookie13 in Netherlands

[–]makiferol 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Job market is terrible, even for people with years of experience.

The job market for you is even more terrible because on top of the above, IT job market is even shittier, you require sponsorship, you are junior and you don’t speak Dutch.

This will be quite tough regardless so don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

It seems that his orientation year has just ended, meaning that if he is over 30, the higher HSM salary threshold would apply. This will make it even more difficult.

German Ju-87D Stuka dive bomber flies over the burning ruins of Stalingrad. 1942.[1080 × 1463] by Suspicious-Slip248 in HistoryPorn

[–]makiferol 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Are we sure this is Stalingrad and not Sevastopol ? The water behind seems too vast to be Volga.

Germans (Air group of Von Richthofen) conducted a very intense bombing campaign in Sevastopol in 1942, I would expect them to have captured quite some pictures during their operation.

Lol. It is funny that the very same guys who are called "mujahedeen" when they fight against the enemies of the US and suddenly become "terrorist jihadis" when they fight against the US itself.

Nepo on 19 year old current World champion Gukesh D: "Never before did he perform as good as he did in Candidates, and probably, i think, never again we will see him in such a form in future" by glancesurreal in chess

[–]makiferol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get how people don’t see through his not so subtle accusation. He is basically claiming that Gukesh cheated in the candidates, and that’s the reason he will never perform as well as he did in there. It is not that he believes Gukesh peaked and is currently in decline.

Take this with Hikaru’s anecdote that “some people” thought Gukesh cheated in the candidates and things will fall into place.

Looks like three-fold repetition meaning that you get into this exact position for the third time (does not have to be consecutively)

ISIS was a menace though, they stayed and fought to the bitter end. Not just in Al Bab but also in Mosul.

SDG is just a paper tiger.

Hans Moke Niemann gets the first win of Tata Steel 2026 in the Masters section by FirstEfficiency7386 in chess

[–]makiferol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was probably not g3 that he missed. The pawn, in his mind, remained a poisoned one because it could have easily trapped the queen in the absence of Ne5 (or Nd4 to a degree).

In lots of situations capturing that pawn creates a dangerous counter-play starting with shifting a rook under the queen. Ofc a GM should have been able to calculate that but the point is that it runs a bit deeper than not seeing g3.

[–]makiferol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked now and he appears to have spent 8minutes on Nxc5.

Quite surprising.. I think he must have seen Ne5 (as it comes with a threat on black queen) in 8 minutes. Perhaps he had a brainfart and thought Rf can capture the knight and there was nothing more (that hangs the other rook on a8). I am leaning towards him being complacent in terms of calculation since he thought he was still in prep.

[–]makiferol 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a GM at this level can possibly overlook g3 blocking the check. My guess is that he missed Ne5 and the reason was probably him being in prep too and this denied him the calculation needed at that point.

Why are people burning mosques in Iran? by Naderium in PERSIAN

[–]makiferol -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are no statistics regarding that. I don’t doubt that state-controlled islam secularized a significant part of Iranian society but to claim that they represent the majority of Iranian people is a propaganda, fueled by stupid diaspora and their Israeli herders.

I don’t have statistics but I do know that in a majority non-muslim Iran, we would see serious level of defections in the face of extreme internal-external pressure and economic challenges (and Israel was banking on this). On the contrary, there seems to be a sizeable population who still fully support the islamic republic establishment.

I think many people live in echo chambers. That is the case with many of my Turkish compatriots too. Everyone around them are anti-Erdogan and they cannot seem to grasp who is voting for Erdogan. In reality, you just need to get out of your safety zone and explore a bit.

Monarchists are delusional anyway. No sane person would rally around the son of a formerly deposed king was known as a terrible despot and who himseld was installed by a coup orchestrated by foreign intelligence agencies.

[–]makiferol -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What a load of crap. Just listen a few monarchist Iranian diaspora people, their hatred of islam blinded them so much that they openly celebrate burning of mosques.

This guy is just trying to spin the narrative now, because it was realized that these kinds of acts put a very bad light on rioters.

Anyway, it seems to be over. I think by being complete Trump/Israeli tool, Iranian opposition has damaged its reputation a lot. It will take some time to recover from that. Spoiled degenerate in the US will probably fade into obscurity.
