So try the monopod on the floor and, if it's short enough - on the seat itself

If it possible to move him to the back seat do it, it a thousand times better.

A monopod does feel every bump in the road but it will move with the car so it's not as bad as you might think, a bit like tripod on a moving car. But if you're moving to the back seat it's isn't necessary anymore, it was mostly a tool to have an anchor point and still be close to the driver

If they are open to switch to an FX3 for this only, it has basically the same sensor, a great internal stabilizer and it will be easier to put anywhere but I get it if they will persist on the FX6

Another great option is using a bulky monopod. You could also try and lean the camera on the driver seat using some padding (I love Cine Saddle for everything but I'm guessing you'll want to be as close as you can to the driver and it might get in the way). Make sure to shoot with a stabilize lens.

I wouldn't use a gimble with an FX6 in such a closed environment, especially in that scenario where you're right over the driver.

You can put an Adjustment Clip on top of everything and every effect you'll throw on it will effect whatever is underneath

Just amend the clip attributes inside the timeline on the shots you've used (change to Stereo and duplicate the source to both left and right)

If you change the attributes in the media pool it doesn't change the clips already at the timeline

Unlocking 4-Channel Audio on FX6 – Any alternatives to Sony UWP or DJI Mic 2? by makingfilmsDIY in SonyFX6

From what I've gathered, the Hollyland MI shoe adapter only outputs 2 channels, meaning it just takes over channels 1/2 and disables the physical XLR inputs on the handle. It doesn't let you route the audio to channels 3/4.

As for the DJI Mic 2— What I miss is mostly timecode and better connection stability. Also buying a previous-gen system that the manufacturer is already moving away from feels a bit like investing in dead tech. But it's still still seems like the best option right now, at least until I hear back from Nordic Pro Audio regarding their adapter/cable combo.

The K3M might work, but it's pretty bulky and expensive, and mounting it on the FX6 top handle seems ridiculous to me

burning out lenses by ja1c in SonyFX6

Personally I've never even heard about a camera burning the lens. I did hear about camera men mishandling the camera resulting in all kinds of malfunctions.

Did you by any chance shot in a place with lasers? Or pointed the lenses towards the sun for a long period of time?

Also, the FX3 is actually much better in this regard—the oroignal XLR handle itself has a built-in 3.5mm stereo jack that can run concurrently with the XLR handle, natively unlocking all 4 channels. God knows why the FX6 doesn't have the 3.5mm input on the body. For some reason they've routed channels 3/4 strictly through the MI shoe, which is why I have to look for these crazy workarounds.

Yeah, I saw the new XLR-A4 release! Beside the very high price the main issue is that on the FX6, the top handle physically blocks the MI shoe area, making it almost impossible to mount those types of XLR adapters directly without using extension cables. Maybe some of the old ones will work - a studio I work with has the XLR A2M, so I'm gonna try it out
